Visited The National Botanic Gardens

with our friends (yes, the ones who visited us in Japan)

and their family friends (a French couple with 2 daughters).

（日本に遊びに来てくれた友人達）

と、彼らの友人であるフランス人夫妻と2人のお子さんとで

植物園に行った。

For me, my friend Claire and her friend Odelle,

the main purpose was to see the flowers and plants.

However, for the boys and the kids,

Geocaching was their one and only purpose.

私とクレアとクレアの友人オデルはお花を楽しむため、

そして男性陣と子供達はジオキャッシングが目的だった。

Lucie took a photo of me.

We also saw a squirrel and a pheasant.

リスとキジとも遭遇。

After that we all came back to our house

for tea and biscuits.

その後は我が家に集合してティータイム。

Doggies are not allowed in the botanic garden,

so they had to wait at home.

犬達は植物園に連れて行けなかったので

退屈だったね。ごめんね。

でも、子供達がいっぱい遊んでくれたね。

I really enjoyed the outing.

Elderflower

Picked elderflower to make elderflower cordial.

The house is full of lovely elderflower scent now.

Elderflower (日本語ではニワトコと言うようだ）で

ドリンクを作ろうと摘んで来た。

家中いい香りがする。

Really feels like summer!

夏の風物詩？

Doggies sometimes sleep very close.

I didn't happen very often before.

最近、犬達がそばで熟睡していることがある。

少しずつ距離が縮まってきてるのかな。

Bloomsday('s Eve)

Tomorrow is Bloomsday.

I forgot about it until we walked to Sandycove,

where James Joyce's Ulysses is partly based in.

サンディコーヴという海岸に犬達と散歩。

そこで開催中のブルームズデイフェスティバルを見て

明日がそうなんだと思い出した。

ジョイスの小説『ユリシーズ』の

舞台になっているタワーのある所。

 葉っぱでできたジョイス像も登場。

Another Japanese Spitz!

Encountered another Japanese spitz today

near our local Tesco.

8-year-old girl Shi Shi!

Japanese spitz is definitely more popular here than in Japan.

今日また別の日本スピッツに遭遇！

8歳の女の子シーシーちゃん。

飼い主の女性によると、

近くに日本スピッツ2匹飼っている人がいるそうだ。

夫の実家の近くにブリーダーさんもいるそうだ。

 私はたまにシローのことを

「シーシー」と呼んでいる（笑）。

BBQ Madness & Another Japanese Spitz

A miracle happened and the sunny weather lasted more than a week :-))

We had a BBQ 4 times!

奇跡が起こり1週間以上も晴天が続いている。

今やらないと2度とできないかもしれない！と

バーベキューを4回もやってしまった（笑）。

For the last occasion, charcoal was sold out in many shops

so we had to go to many places to find it.

余りにもいい天気が続いたのでBBQをやる人が続出し

チャーコールが売り切れる店が相次いだ。

Today I met another Japanese spitz called "Mazy"

Cute!

今日、メイジーちゃんという１歳の日本スピッツに遭遇。

こっちに帰って来て１ヶ月ちょっと。

大阪でいた1年間で合計2匹にあったけど、

こっちではもう既に3匹も遭遇した。

やはり日本よりヨーロッパでの方が人気あるようだ。

Long Evenings

Mid-summer's day is coming soon,

so days are getting longer.

We can have a lovely walk in the sunshine

even after dinner these days.

ヨーロッパに住んでいていいことは、

夏は日が長くて夕飯の後もかなり長時間明るいこと。

June Bank Holiday Weekend

The weather got better as time went on!

On Sunday we invited my husband's sister and her husband

for a barbecue.

They were first guests to our new house.

6月の3連休。

日曜に義妹夫妻を招待してバーベキューをした。

結構美味しくて話も弾んで楽しかった。

On Monday, we cycled to an area

where we are interested in buying a house.

(As we don't have a car yet, we need to cycle.

It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed cycling.

Though I must confess I'm using an electric bike :-))

Then we saw 2 Japanese spitzes!

月曜は本当にいいお天気。

こちらで車がまだないので

買いたい家を見て回るのに

自転車で走り回った。

そこで日本スピッツ2匹と遭遇！
