Lockdown

Ireland has been in Lockdown since last week.

We are allowed to go within 2km of our house

for exercise or dog walks.

We are allowed to go more than 2km

for essential shopping or helping elderly people

who are required to stay at home all the time.

アイルランドは先週からロックダウン状態である。

エクササイズや犬散歩には

自宅から2km以内の場所に外出可能で、

食料品や薬など必要不可欠なものの

買い物や家を出ることを禁止されている

70歳以上のお年寄りの手伝いをするという目的でのみ

自宅から2km以上の外出が認められている。

I forgot to take a photo, 

but made a very nice potato salad

using this YouTube video.

This is a recipe of a Japanese comedian,

whom I don't know very well

as he became famous after I left Japan.

I found this video

while searching for a potato salad recipe.

I did not use bacon

as I am a (kind of) vegetarian.

写真を撮るのを忘れたのだが、

このYouTubeのレシピを使って

とっても美味しいポテトサラダを作った。

このユーチューバーさんは芸人なんだそうだが、

私が日本を出てから有名になった方なので

実は私はテレビでは見たことがない。

ポテトサラダを検索してて偶然見つけた。

芸人さんだけあってわかりやすく説明してくれた。

ちなみに私は（なんちゃって）ベジタリアンなので

ベーコンは使わなかった。

I am absolutely devastated by the passing of Ken Shimura.

It's a wake-up call for everybody

to realise how serious we should take this crisis.

It's really sad we only realized this after his life was lost...

It Is a Strange Time

Covid-19 madness shows no sign to slow down.

All the pubs are closed and other shops are closing.

But life goes on and we have to cope.

コロナウィルス問題は沈静化する様子はない。

パブはすべて閉鎖され、他の店も次々に閉まっている。

冷静に対応するしかない。

17 March is St Patrick's Day.

Ordinarily there are parades all over the country.

However, all the events are cancelled this year.

3月17日はアイルランドの聖人

聖パトリックの日で

国中でパレードがあるのだが、

今年はすべて中止である。

Instead of staying indoors on the warm St. Patrick's Day,

we drove to Portrane and went for a walk.

本来なら家にいるべきなのだろうが、

人混みを避ければ出かけてもいいと考え、

その日はビーチに行き犬達と散歩した。

The following day is my birthday.

翌日の18日は私の誕生日だ。

I bought these to make a washing hands experience

more enjoyable.

手洗いをもっと楽しくできるように

ハンドウォッシュとハンドクリームを購入。

My husband bought me the flowers 

and the pyjamas.

(I had requested the pyjamas.)

夫が花とパジャマをプレゼントしてくれた。

（パジャマは私がリクエストした。）

The doggies also got a present (apple skin),

even though it's not their birthday.

犬達も誕生日ではないのに

プレゼント（りんごの皮）をもらっていた。

Trying to Keep a Normal Life

All the schools have closed because of Covid-19.

Everybody is upset with the current situation.

My husband is working from home now.

However, the doggies don't understand the situation.

We should be calm and logical.

新型コロナウィルス のため、

アイルランドのすべての学校が閉鎖になった。

夫も家で仕事するように指示された。

でも犬達には状況はわかっていない。

落ち着いて論理的に行動するべきであろう。
