Walk in the Park with Cherry Blossoms

We went to Oizumi Park 
to view the cherry blossoms with our guests.

The both daughters love dogs 
so they insisted to hold the leads.

家から比較的近くにある大泉公園に、

お花見をかねてアイルランドからの友人一家と散歩した。

The flowers were breathtakingly beautiful.

桜は本当にキレイだった。

 

Nara

Today we went to Nara.

今日は奈良観光。

With "Sento-kun", the mascot of Nara.

せんとくんと。

In front of 5 layered Pagoda.

五重塔の前で。

Feeding deer.

勿論鹿も沢山いた。

東大寺と桜。

It was a warm and sunny day.

いいお天気でとても楽しかった。

犬達はまたまたまたお留守番が長くなって

楽しくなかったね。ごめんね（涙）。

明日は長めの朝の散歩しようね。

 

As a Tour Guide in Osaka

Have been doing a lot of activities with the family from Ireland.

Went to Kaiyukan (Osaka Aquarium), Kyoto, Sanrio shop with the girls,

eating sushi & karaoke!

アイルランドから訪問中の友人一家を色々と案内した。

海遊館、京都、サンリオショップ、回転寿し、そしてカラオケ！

At Kaiten Zushi (Sushi on a Belt Conveyer).

回転寿しの店にて。

店には偶然大阪場所のせいか力士もいたので、

友人達は大喜び。

 The girls are pretending to be Japanese girls.

子供達（と夫）は日本人の真似をして

ピースサインをしている。

西洋人は写真を撮る時にはこんなことはしない。

夫は仕事してたのでいない。

  

The girls love dogs, so we went to a pet shop with them.

2人のお嬢さんは犬が大好き。

ペットショップに犬達と一緒に行った。

They're in Tokyo now.

今は東京に行ってしまった。

子供達がいなくなってちょっと寂しい。

I'm so lucky to have lovely friends like them. 

素晴らしい友人に恵まれ、

私は本当に幸せ者だ。

Kyoto

Went to Kyoto with our guests from Ireland.

アイルランドから滞在中の友人を京都に案内した。

Kiyomizu Temple.

清水寺。

Ryozen Kannnon. With the very friendly monk.

霊山観音。気さくな僧侶の方と。

アイルランド人とフランス人の一家だというと、

いきなりフランス語で歌を歌い出した。 

Green Tea noodles I had for lunch.  It was nice.

お昼に食べた茶そば。

Extra: Udon noodles Jonathan cooked for us on the previous day.

おまけ：前日の夕食にジョナサンが作ってくれたうどん。

It was a nice day out.

友人一家は生八つ橋を気に入り購入した！

Sorry dogs we left you alone in the house all day again.

また1日中外出してごめんね。 

 

Surprise Birthday Presents

We're currently having visitors from Ireland.

Our friends and their 2 daughters.

They arrived today and the girls gave me nice drawings.

Their father is half Canadian half irish,

and their mother is French. 

アイルランドから友人カップルと

そのお嬢さん２人が遊びに来た！

2人のお嬢さん（12歳と8歳）が、

私のためにカードを作ってもってきてくれた。

 Very moving.

とってもとっても嬉しかった。

 It took us a long time to drive back from the airport,

so the dogs were probably bored at home. 

 関空に迎えに行くのに時間がかかったから、

長い間お留守番させてごめんね。

  

Birthday Girl

Is ME!

今日は私の誕生日。

特別な日なので嬉しい。

My husband bought the same cake

he had got for Shiro's birthday.

夫がシローの誕生日に買って来たケーキと

同じケーキを買って来てくれた。

St. Patrick's Day

17 March is St. Patrick's Day,

a national holiday in Ireland to celebrate the patron saint.

We went to Osaka castle to see the Patrick's Day's parade. 

We couldn't see the parade as we were a bit late,

but we still were able to enjoy the atmosphere. 

3月17日はセントパトリックスデイ。

大阪城公園で行われるパレードを見に行った。

駐車場が満車だったので、

車を停める場所を探すのに時間がかかり、

パレードを見ることはできなかった。

しかし、その後の余韻を楽しむことはできた。

Irish wolfhound dressed for the day!

アイリッシュウルフハウンド。馬みたいに大きい！

Mr. Mark Donnellan from Tipperary dressed as St. Patrick.

ティペラリー出身のマークさんがセントパトリック役。

Our dogs were patriotic, too as they're Irish Japanese spitz!

Decorated with an Irish flag and shamrocks.

アイルランド生まれの犬達も勿論参加。

ミッフィーは国旗、シローはシャムロックをつける。

 

The plum blossoms have past their peak, but still looking nice.

 梅は満開を過ぎた。

パレードは見過ごしたけど、

本場での3月17日ではあり得ない暖かさで、

私個人としては嬉しかった。

Miffy's Blanket

At last I was able to finish a blanket for Miffy.

人間の帽子ばかり編んでて全然進まなかった

ミッフィー用のブランケットが完成。

Miffy's using Shiro's blanket, too....

ミッフィーがシローのも使ってる...。

I am currently making table mats and coasters.

そして今はランチョンマットとコースター製作中。

 

Fujiidera & Habikino

Drove towards east side of Osaka and

visited Domyoji Temple in Fujiidera City.

梅を見に藤井寺市の道明寺に行った。

梅はまだ5分先きだったが、

沢山の観光客が来ていた。

 菅原道真が九州へ左遷される直前、

叔母の覚寿尼が庵主していた

この道明寺を訪れたといわれている。

This area is full of tumuli.

We had to visit one of them:

 Kondayama Kofun (Emperor Oujin's Tumulus).

藤井寺市、羽曳野市は古墳がいっぱいある。

大仙陵古墳についで2番目に大きいと言われる

‪誉田御廟山古墳‬に行ってみた。

It's a pity people are not allowed inside.

中に入れなくて残念。

It was colder than yesterday.

Nonetheless, we had a great time, exploring.

昨日より寒かったけど、

今まで行ったことのない大阪の地域に行って楽しかった。

A Warm March Day

Went out to Oizumi Park again.

暖かい3月1日。大泉公園に行った。

Beautiful daffodils.

キレイな水仙。

The plum blossoms' peak time is delayed

as this winter is unusually cold.

冬が寒かったのでやっと梅が咲き始めている。

We'll have to leave Japan in less than 2 months now....

日本生活も後2ヶ月を切った。
