Lamb Roast

Roasted a leg of lamb for dinner.

(But I forgot to take photos!)

美味しそうなラムが手に入ったのでローストした。

But I took some photos of

my husband teasing the dogs with a lamb bone.

でも ラムの骨を犬達に見せびらかして

喜ぶ夫の写真は何枚か撮影。

It was juicy and lovey (I'm talking about the lamb!).

美味しかった。

Aran Fingerless Mittens

Made these fingerless mittens with a flap

at the request of a lady in Chicago.

シカゴ在住の女性からの依頼で

カバー付きの指無し手袋をアランツイードの毛糸で製作。

Christmas present for her husband.

女性のご主人へのクリスマスプレゼントだそうだ。

I hope they'll like the mitts!

I can't help keeping saying this, 

but leaves are so beautiful in Ireland this autumn.

So much so that there was an article about it

on the Irish Times a while ago.

本当にしつこいが

今年の秋の木の葉の色が本当に美しい。

ちょっと前の新聞にも記事が出ていた。

For the past couple of weeks,

I've been quite busy with work.

It can be stressful, but as a freelancer,

I'm also very grateful and feel so fortunate.

ここ２、３週間仕事が忙しい。

ストレスが溜まることもあるが、

フリーランスの身としては

本当にありがたいことだ。

Book Launch Party

Went to a book launch party for 

PJ Connolly's first novel "The Priest's Wife".

PJ Connolly氏の処女作小説『The Priest's Wife』の

出版記念パーティーに行って来た。

It was a very successful & heart warming occasion.

80人もの人々が集まって大盛況だった。

 I (left) helped as a receptionist.

Sitting beside me is my Irish friend, Claire,

whose daughter played the violin.

私（写真左）は受付の仕事も担当。

右側にいるのはアイルランド人の友人クレア。

当日クレアのお嬢さんがバイオリンを披露。

Sorry dogs, you were probably bored at home....

一緒に連れて行けなくてゴメンね。

Hampstead Park & Spitz Encounter

Went to Hampstead Park in North Dublin

for Geocaching.

ダブリンの北側にあるHampstead Park

にジオキャッシングに行って来た。

Beautiful autumn colours.

今年の秋は本当に木の葉の色が素晴らしい。

写真撮影の後、オヤツのためにちょっとフライング。

Encountered another Japanese spitz!

Unfortunately we couldn't get the dog's name 

as the owner was on the mobile phone.

またまた日本スピッツに遭遇。

ダブリンでは6匹目！

飼い主さんが電話中で

話すことができなかったので

残念ながら名前はわからない。

I think Japanese Spitzs in Ireland are

a lot bigger than those in Japan.

アイルランドのスピッツは

日本よりもやはり大きい。

私たちのスピッツも平均より大きいが、

今日見た子はもっと大きかった。

Crafty Presents

Made a crochet collar for Shiro.

Hope it's strong enough.

シローにかぎ針編みでカラーを作った。

It's not very visible as he's very hairy...
毛深いタイプの犬なのではっきり見えないが（苦笑）...。

The Knitting & Stitching Show
 which I went with Audrey, my crochet teacher.
I'm making a jumper as a present.

先日かぎ針編みの先生と一緒に行った
毛糸や編み物のイベントで
ドネゴール・アラン・ツイードの毛糸を購入。
プレゼントのセーターを製作中。

Autumn Colours

As this summer was unusually hot in Ireland,

the colours of leaves this autumn are incredibly beautiful.

They remind me of last autumn in Japan.

今年の夏は異常に暑かったせいか、

秋になって木の葉の色がとても美しい。

去年の日本での秋を思い出す。

キンモクセイの香りがあったら最高なのだけど。

Ballyedmonduff

It was a sunny Sunday today.

We went out Geocaching with

Jonathan, Sophie & Lucie

to Ballyedmonduff.

(Claire was doing her gardening course).

寒かったがいいお天気の日曜、

またまたジョナサン達と

BallyedmonduffにGeocachingに出かけた。

The dogs got really filthy, but 

we all had a great time!

犬達はドロドロに汚れたけど、

楽しい１日を過ごした。

New Nickname

The dogs being very alert in case

something might fall from our breakfast table.

人間が朝食中の犬達。

テーブルから何か落ちてこないか凝視中。

Shiro gave up, but Miffy is still waiting.

シローは諦めたがミッフィーはまだまだ凝視。

While going for a walk this morning,

somebody said our dogs are like candyfloss.

Snow dog, fluffy dog, teddy bear dog...

The dogs have acquired a lot of nicknames

from strangers over the years,

but this one is my favourite so far.

今朝散歩中、すれ違った人に

「綿飴みたいな犬！」と言われた。

これまで色々な名称で呼ばれたが、

この「綿飴」というのは気に入った（笑）。

 

Rainbow & Old Rathmichael Church

We had a stormy weather on Saturday.

But when the sun appeared, we saw a rainbow.

嵐のような天気だったが

その間には晴れ間も。

そして虹が出た。

On Sunday, we visited Old Rathmichael Church,

which is near my husband's father's house.

日曜は義父宅の近くにある

Old Rathmichael Churchを散歩。

12世紀に建てられた教会だそうだ。

久しぶりにのんびりした週末を過ごせた。
