Late Summer Holiday in France 1

Between 2008 and 2011, 

we took a boat to France and had holiday there

with the dogs every year.

But in 2012, we were living in Japan,

and last year, we were too busy house-hunting

to go away on holiday.

This year, we took up that routine again,

and sailed to France for our late summer holiday.

For the first time, we got a boat from Rosslare to Cherbourg.

(Previously, we got a boat from Cork to Roscoff.)

 　

イヌを飼い始めてから、

夏休みはフェリーでフランスに行くのが

毎年恒例になっていたのだが、

2012年は日本に住んでいたため、

そして去年は家探しで忙しかったために

その習慣が途切れてしまった。

しかし、今年は家も無事に買ったので、

ちょっと遅めの夏休みにフランスに来た。

例年はコークからロスコフまでフェリーで行くのだが、

今年はロスレアからシェルブールまで初めて来た。

犬達は残念ながらフェリーではケンネルで過ごす。

The gîte we are going to spend for the next week.

今日から1週間 過ごすファームハウス。

Active Weekend

On Saturday, we were invited to a party by

my husband's former colleague and her husband.

We were first to arrive, 

and this is the photo I took before the party started.

土曜日は夫の以前の同僚と

彼女のご主人の家で開催されたパーティーに行って来た。

写真はパーティーが始まる前に撮った。

The next day, we took part in a car boot sale and

tried to sell some items we no longer need.

翌日はカーブートセール（フリーマーケット）に

参加し、不必要な物を売却した。

The above couple who hosted the party 

came to the car boot sale, 

not to buy items but to borrow 

our doggy life jackets.
(Though my husband's former colleague
kindly bought a handmade tea cosy & a teapot set!)

They are going on a holiday and
planning to go on a barge.
 

昨日パーティーを開催した
夫の元同僚夫妻がカーブートセールに来た。
物を買いに来たのではなく、
我々から犬用の救命ベストを借りる為だ。
（でも夫の元同僚Mさんは
手作りのティーポットカバーとポットのセットを
買ってくれた！）
犬達と旅行に行くのに
途中で船に乗る予定らしい。

セール中、看板犬として大人気だった犬達。

Taking Pictures during Breaks

I've got a little bit busier with work now.

However, that does (and should) not stop me

from having a good time.

 ちょっと仕事が忙しくなってきたが、

合間に楽しみを見つけるのは止められない！

Sunny but very windy outside.

いい天気だけど風邪が強い。

Bay tree--I used the leaves a lot for cooking.

月桂樹ーお料理によく使用する。

New Shiro & New Miffy??

Encountered a Samoyed again during our morning walk.

Strangely, Shiro was a bit aggressive to him,

and even more strangely, Miffy was friendly to him.

午前中の散歩中、またまた別のサモエドに遭遇。

いつもは穏やかなシローが何故か攻撃的で、

他の犬は大嫌いなミッフィーが何故か友好的だった。

 "Hello Spitzy Girl!"

ちょっと緊張気味のミッフィー。

 

 What the hell is this dog?? says Shiro.

 

Geocaching & Home Decorating

Drove to Edmondstown for my husband's Geocaching.

EdmondstownにGeocachingに出かけた。

 Shiro refused to walk on a wooden bridge.

シローは何故か木の橋を渡るのを断固拒否。

In the afternoon, we painted the living room ceiling.

The paint we used is Dulux Biscotti.

 午後はリビングの天井のペンキ塗り。

使用したペンキはDulux Biscotti。

Spitz Encounter on the Beach

We had a lovely sunny evening stroll on the beach.

久々に夕方にいいお天気になったので

犬達と浜辺を散歩。

シロー変顔（笑）。

シローは緊張気味。

Maynooth

Drove to Maynooth, Co. Kildare to purchase

a car roof box.

Then we went for a short walk in NUI Maynooth

(National University of Ireland, Maynooth).

カールーフボックスを買うために

キルデアのメイヌースに行った。

（私は今週2度目のキルデア！）

そしてアイルランド国立大学メイヌース校

の敷地で少し散歩。

This Silken Thomas Yew behind Shiro 

is supposed to about 800 years old and

the oldest tree in Ireland.

犬達の後にあるイチイの木は

想定樹齢800年で

アイルランドで1番古い木だと考えられている。

The weather was very unstable.

After we came home, 

it started raining very heavily.

So we just relaxed at home.

不安定なお天気が続いている。

帰宅後は大雨になったので

家で犬達とのんびりする。
