Miffy's interested in a spitz on the TV.

TVに映るスピッツに釘付けのミッフィー。

Everybody in the crochet class made granny squares 

for this blanket for Rita,

who can't come to the class any more because of her health.

編み物のクラスの参加者全員がすこしずつ

スクエアと作ってできたブランケット。

健康上の理由でクラスに来れなくなったリタへのプレゼント。

In the evening, my husband & I took part in a pub quiz

for raising money for a local school.

夜は、パブクイズに夫と共に参加。

Our team (we and another couple)won!

結果は見事優勝。

We also won vouchers for petrol in the raffles.

ラッフルでは40ユーロ分のガソリン券も当たった😊

Spring Is Just Around the Corner (I Hope)

It's still very cold!

When we take the doggies out for an evening walk,

our breath is white and we still need a hat, a scarf and gloves.

４月に入ったというのにまだまだ寒い。

夕食後の犬達との散歩中は息は白いし

帽子、手袋、マフラーが必要だ。

However, days are getting longer and

we have started get more sunshine during the day.

でも日は長くなって来たし

日中は太陽が出ることも多くなった。

So the doggies have started to relax in the garden.

犬達も日中は庭でゆっくりすることが増えた。

The walls and the ground of the garden

are very mossy after the wet winter.

Removing the moss is a task for spring....

長くて雨の多かった冬の後なので

庭の壁や地面が苔だらけ😭。

苔掃除が春のお仕事だな。

I made another harness for Shiro.

シロー用にまたハーネスを編んだ。

　I'm very happy with what I made,

though Shiro doesn't seem to be....

私はその出来に大満足だが、

シローは非常に不満そう...。

I'll make another for Miffy!

Never Mind, I'm Trying!

I found frozen octopus in Lidl!

It's almost impossible to buy octopus in Ireland,

so I had to buy it.

スーパー Lidl で冷凍のタコを発見！

アイルランドでタコを買うのは殆ど無理なので

もう買うしかなかった。

I am an Osaka girl (or a former girl),

so I have to make "takoyaki" with it.

Now is the time to use "takoyaki pan"

which I got as a wedding gift 15 years ago,

and never used it until now.

大阪人としてはタコを見たら

たこ焼きを作らなきゃいけない。

15年前に結婚祝いに頂き、

今まで１度も使う機会のなかった

たこ焼き用の鉄板を使う時がついに来た！

I looked everywhere but I couldn't find "beni shoga"

(red pickled ginger) I had brought from Japan last month 😢.

先月日本から持ってきた紅生姜が

どこを探しても見つからなかった。

紅生姜なしのたこ焼きで我慢である 😢。

....

It wasn't great but at least I tried.

....。

何か違うなあ。

次はレシピを使って、そして紅生姜も！

My husband is away in London for work for a few days,

so it's my job to look after (entertain) the doggies.

夫がロンドンに出張中なので、

犬達の世話は私一人の仕事である。

They are sad as their favourite daddy is not around,

but I have to do my best.

大好きなお父さんがいないので

犬達は寂しそうだが、

私が頑張るしかない。

Ticked Everything off the List (for Today)

As my work is not busy any more,

I concentrate on our domestic life more.

I make a list of things to do everyday,

but I rarely complete everything on the list 😅.

仕事が全然忙しくない昨今、

家事や犬達のケアに集中している。

毎日「今日するべきこと」のリストを作成するが、

それが完了することはほとんどない😅。

However, I did it today!

でも、今日はリストの項目をすべてクリア！！

"What!? That's a miracle!" says Miffy.

「それは奇跡ね！」ミッフィー。

"You should do it everyday" says Shiro.

「毎日達成するべきだよね」シロー。

1. Take the doggies to Killiney Hill as it was sunny.

1. いい天気だったので犬達をKilliney Hill に連れていく。

2. Make "Zenzai" with aduki beans and freeze it.

2. 小豆でぜんざいを作って冷凍保存。

3. Make "dango" with glutinous rice flour and freeze it.

3. もち米粉で団子を作って冷凍保存。

4. Contact some friends I haven't been in touch with recently, 

and organised lunch outings.

4. 最近連絡を取ってない友人数名に連絡して、

来週のランチをオーガナイズ。

5. Laundry, cleaning & cooking.

5. 洗濯、掃除、料理等の平常の家事。

Probably these are easy things for most people,

but a great achievement for somebody lazy like me 😁.

これらのことを当然のように毎日やっている人は多いだろうが、

怠け者の私には偉業なのである😁。

This is the apple jam I made last week, 

and the nicest jam I've ever had.

I'm sad as it doesn't last forever....

これは先週作ったりんごジャム。

どんな市販のジャムよりも

今までに自分で作ったジャムよりも

本当に美味しくできた（密かに自慢）。

明日も頑張ろう！

Easter Weekend

Easter Bunny Cosplay!

イースターバニーのコスプレ。

This year's Easter marks Easter Rising's 100th year anniversary,

so we briefly went into town to experience the atmosphere.

今年のイースターは、イースター蜂起の100周年なので、

そのお祝いイベントの様子を見に少しだけ街にでた。

On Sunday evening, one of my friends hosted 

a small birthday party for me.

Her daughter baked a lovely cake (really tasty!)

and put the candles.

(I do not want to show the whole cake

as it will reveal the number of the candles,

but as it can be guessed from the photo, it's quite a lot 😅)

友人の一人が私のために

ささやかな誕生パーティを開いてくれた。

友人のお嬢さんはケーキを焼いて、

ろうそくを立ててくれた。

（ケーキの写真全体を載せるとろうそくの数で

年がばれてしまうけど、

写真からも推測できるが、かなりたくさんある😅）

I was so touched and moved by their kindness.

本当にありがたく、嬉しかった。

私は幸せ者です。

Sunny and Happy and Good Friday

Today is Good Friday.

And it's good as it was sunny 😊

今日は聖金曜日。

いいお天気で楽しい１日となった。

Went for a walk in UCD.

今日は我々夫婦の母校であるUCDを散歩。

With the new harness on!

おニューの手作りハーネスを着せてみた。

We also bought some Easter egg chocolates today.

And I have to use these lovely knitted Easter chicks

made by my dear crochet friend Rita.

今日はイースターエッグチョコレートを幾つか購入。

編み物仲間のリタが作った手編みのヒヨコに

入れるための小さなエッグチョコレートも購入。

Craft Day

Even though we didn't show the doggies 

the camel toy we had bought in Dubai,

Shiro somehow found it, and murdered it (of course)!!

ドバイで犬達のために買ったラクダを、

隠しておいたのにもかかわらず、

何故かシローが見つけて既にひと仕事していた！！

I had to be an eye surgeon and repaired him.

仕方ないので緊急手術。

As I was using a thread and needle,

I decided to give another surgery to Miffy's favourite toy.

裁縫ついでに

ミッフィーのお気に入りのワンコにも手術を施した。

Miffy's been playing with it so much that

it's covered with Miffy saliva and

the fabric has got really hard almost like leather 😅

ミッフィーが毎日のように

ガジガジしているので、

表面は唾液で覆われそのせいか

皮みたいに固くなっている😅。

AND, I have also finished a harness 2.0 for Miffy!

そしてミッフィー用の改訂版ハーネス完成！

Miffy looks grumpy somehow...

Why Japanese Spitz, Why??

ミッフィーは何故か不満顔だけど...。

I'm happy anyway!

私は大満足！

And it's Easter and a 4 day weekend!

今週末はイースターなので４連休だ！
