The Red Moon

My husband came home late 

after a conference call with the London office.

So, the doggies and I walked to meet him 

on his way home from the metro station.

Then I spotted the big red moon.

赤くて大きな月が低い空に見えた。

慌てて携帯電話で写真撮ったけど、

感動が全く伝わらない。

When we arrived home, 

we immediately went out with my SLR camera

to take more proper photos of the red moon.

But the moon was not red any more,

and looked smaller as it went up higher in the sky.

帰宅してすぐに一眼レフで写真撮ったけど、

もう月は上に昇ってしまい、

赤くも大きくもなかった。

でも、あんな大きな赤い月が見れて幸せな気分。

Matsubara Walk Vol. 2

We went out for a walk in Matsubara City again.

The manhole cover has a picture of 

pine tree (matsu) and rose (bara)!

マンホールは松とバラ。

Walked along Nishiyoke River.

西除川（にしよけがわ）を散策。

 Nunose Shrine.

布忍（ぬのせ）神社。

It was sunny & lovely.

I really enjoyed walking.

I'll miss this kind of sunny winter day 

after I go back to Ireland.

いい天気だったので

歩くのも写真撮るのも楽しかった。

Imaike Mizu Mirai Centre

There is a path for going for a walk 

right beside a water treatment plant called 

"Imaike Mizu Mirai Centre".

松原市を散歩していて偶然発見。

「虹の広場」を散策。

建物の屋上にある「風の広場」には

犬は入れないので

そこに行くエレベーター内の鏡を利用して

4ショット。

On our way back along the water,

I spotted a kingfisher.
It's a beautiful bird!

カワセミを見つけて大興奮！

また行って今度はもっといい

カワセミの写真撮りたい。

Hand Crocheted Rugs

I crocheted a rug for myself and another one for Shiro.

This blue rug is for Shiro.

でもミッフィーが使ってるし。

And this flower motif rug is for me.

あれ、シローが使ってる。

 

As long as the doggies are happy....

今作ってるミッフィー用は

私が使ってもいいよね。

Parcel from Dublin

Unexpectedly received a parcel from a friend in Dublin.

A massive box of Thorntons Chocolate (this is English, though),

and some beautiful stitch markers and earrings she made.

私は幸せ者です。

ありがとうCさん。

もうすぐそちらに戻ります。

 

Weekend Outings with the Doggies

1. Mihara Dog Run

美原ドッグラン

 Shiro has started to show some signs
of suffering from the cold temperature,

so we put a top on him when we go out now.

I made my husband's hat, scarf and gloves

(but not Shiro's clothes).

6歳になり寒がりになったようなので

外出の際にシローには洋服を着せる。

シローのは手作りじゃないけど、

夫の帽子、マフラー、手袋は私が作った。

2. Hirano Ward

平野区

The photos are only from Hirano Park,

but the area is full of interesting shrines, temples and

traditional shops.

写真は平野公園より。

One of the temples was a bit like an amusement park's attraction.

It's called "Senko-ji", and it's a temple about hell.

全興時というお寺は遊園地のお化け屋敷みたいだった...。

  ドロロン閻魔くん？（古いな）

My husband's result of "How Hellish or Heavenly Are You?" test.

He seems to have passed, so should be able to go to heaven.

Sunny January Morning

I'm not used to sunny winter days, 

so a walk with the dogs on a day like today 

is enough to make me very happy.

 I like taking photos of shadows.

he wanted to continue the walk a bit more.

余りにも気持ちのいい日だったので、

シローは公園を出るのを拒否。

周囲の人々に笑われてしまった。

I'll miss a sunny winter day like this in Ireland....

Onji, Yao City

Went out to Onji area in Yao city for my husband's Geocaching.

It was a lovely sunny warm day and

perfect for walking with the doggies.

First we went to Onji shrine.

There is a well nearby whose water is said to turn red before rain.

八尾市にある恩智に行って来た。

恩智神社の近くには雨の前には水が赤くなると言われている

閼伽井戸がある。

恩智周辺は古い家並みもある。

 There are a lot of historical sites with old houses.

Then we climbed Onji Hill.

The town still had a sign with a name of

old public phone company (Denden Kosha).

電電公社と書かれたポスター発見。

1985年からはNTTのはず...。

とってもいいお天気で

気持ちのいい1日だった。

シアワセ！

Birthday Boy

9th January is Shiro's birthday. 

He's turned 6.

 ケーキは人間用。

プレゼントは週末まで待ってね（汗）。

 On our way home from the breeder's house in March 2007.

Wexfordのブリーダーさん宅から

自宅に帰る途中の車中で。

この時は日本に住むことになるとは

夢にも思ってなかった。

We'll have many more happy days together, Shiro!

and join them.

簡単なマグカバー。

Met a cute doggy with a cute hand knitted top.

こういうの作ってみたい。

でも、私には無理だな。

A Day Out to Nagoya

大学時代の友人2人に会うために愛知県に出かけた。

We drove to Nagoya to meet my friends from college.

One of them lives in Nagoya,

and the other lives in Kanagawa, 

but her husband is from near Nagoya and

they were there for the New Year's holiday.

As all of us have pet dogs, 

we met up at a dog run called 'Dogwith'.

On the way to Nagoya, we stopped at Tsuchiyama Parking Area.

It had a lot of snow and the dogs loved it!

  Then we went to a shrine called 'Inu Jinja'. 

As Inu in Japanese means dogs, they sell charms for dogs 

and dogs are allowed in the site.

(Ordinarily they are not allowed in the sacred shrine site.)

せっかく名古屋近辺に来たので、

伊奴（いぬ）神社に寄った。

今年が後厄の夫のために、

そして犬達が安全にアイルランドに帰れるように、

お守りを買った。

アイルランドから日本に安全に来れるようにと

以前こちらで買ったお守りは

ちゃんとお返しした。

葉山、名古屋、大阪（ダブリン）と別々に住んでるけど

会うと下んない話で大笑い出来る大切な友達。

会えて本当に嬉しかった。

今度はいつ会えるかな？

Osaka Castle Park

2nd outing with the doggies of 2013 was

to Osaka Castle Park.

This building was built in 1929,

originally for an army facility

and later was used as a museum until 2001.

大阪城に出かけてみた。

来てる人の７割ほどは外国人観光客のようだった。
でも大きいし、お城もあるし、
散歩してて楽しい公園だ。

New Year's Walk

 Wishing you All the Best for 

the New Year!

Went out to Yamato River on the 1st day of 2013.

It was a beautiful sunny day.

 'There's something near the river! Quick, quick!'

「川に何かいるよ。急げ急げ！」

 'It's a turtle!'

 「亀だ！」

 'It's gone into the water :-(('

「水の中に逃げちゃった(-.-)」

It's gone, but a turtle is a symbol of 'good luck', 

so we're very lucky to see it on New Year's Day, dogs!

逃げちゃったけど、亀は幸運のシンボルだから、

元旦に見れてラッキーだったね。

 'Hurray, I'm lucky and found a tennis ball!'

「やったーラッキーだからテニスボール見つけたよ！」

 'PLAY WITH THE BALL!!'

「ボールで遊ぼう！」

'A bit intimidating black shiba dog,

but we're outnumbering her!'

「怖そうな黒柴に遭遇。

でもこっちは２匹だぞ！」

She looks a bit angry,

but she was a cute dog.

ちょっと怒ってるように見えるけど、

本当は可愛い犬だった。

謹賀新年。

充実した１年でありますように。
