Laundry Bag with marimekko Fabric

As the house we are renting is not very big,

and has very little space for anything,

I made a laundry bag I can hang on the wall,

using marmekko fabric I had bought in Finland.

今住んでいる家がわりと狭くて、

ランドリーバスケットを置く場所もないので、

壁にかけられるランドリーバッグを作った。

6年前にフィンランドで買った

マリメッコの布地を使ってみた。 

It's not typical marimekko flower design,

but I think it's nice.

例の花のデザインの生地ではないが、

中々いい味を出していると思う。

The doggies are getting on well better 

since we came back from Japan.

日本から戻って来てから、

犬達の仲もちょっと良くなっていている。

飛行機の旅という苦労を

一緒に共にしたからか。

Cabinteely Park

Our new house is within a walking distance from Cabinteely Park.

It was renovated while we were in Japan.

There's a Japanese garden now.

(We didn't go inside as dogs are not allowed there.)

 

キャビンティーリー公園が家から近い。

私たちが日本にいる間、色々変わっていた。

日本庭園もある。

（これは知っていた。

何故なら、仕事で日本庭園作成に

ちょっと係っていたから。）

The First Summerly Weekend

The wind was chilly, but it was sunny enough.

We had our breakfast in the garden for the first time this year.

風は冷たかったがいいお天気だったので、

今年初めて庭で朝食を食べた。

Of course, the dogs had their breakfast in the garden, too!

勿論犬達も。

Then we drove to Shangannagh Park.

We were very surprised to see 

people playing baseball!

シャンガナー公園に出かけてみた。

そこで野球をやってる人々を見てビックリ。

アイルランドで野球の道具が手にはいるなんて！

選手の一人の人と話してみると、

メンバーはアメリカ人とアイルランド人が殆どだそうで。 

以前は日本人のメンバーもいたらしい。

And we kept walking to Shankill Beach.

そしてそのままシャンキル・ビーチまで歩いた。

お天気がいいだけで本当に幸せな気分になれる。

 

Monkstown & Killiney Hill

It was our first weekend to spend in the

newly rented house.

On Saturday (before watching Eurovision Contest),

we went to Monkstown where we used to live.

今の家に引っ越してから初めての週末。
土曜日には15年程前まで住んでいた
Monkstownに行った。

My husband's Geocaching behind the wall.

On Sunday, we went to Killiney Hill,

which is quite close to our house.

And the weather was really good.

久しぶりにいいお天気になった日曜は、

家から近いKilliney Hillに行った。

Coca Cola Lip Smacking

Found this in Tesco.

It's a Coca Cola flavoured lip balm.

It does smell like a Coca Cola flavoured sweet :-))

リップクリーム。

たまにはこういうのを買ってみるのもいい。

House to Rent

As we sold our house before going to Japan,

we have to rent a house until we buy another one.

And we found one to rent.

日本に住む前にこちらの家を売却したので、

しばらくの間は家を借りる必要がある。

小さいけど中々いい家を見つけた。

Sunny Bank Holiday Weekend

I dreaded the horrible freezing cold weather 

everybody had warned me 

before coming back to Dublin.

But it turned out 

it's not that cold 

(though not very warm, either).

ダブリンに戻る前は、

寒い寒いと言われてたけど、

実際に帰って来てみると、

日本よりは寒いけどそれほどでもない。

滞在しているホリデーホームの庭にて。

大阪の家の庭は小さくて、

犬達はゆっくりくつろげなかったようだ。

 

 

We went out to see our friends

who came to visit us in Japan.

3連休の最後の今日、

先日日本に遊びに来てくれた

友人一家に会いに行った。

We climbed Carrickgollogan.

友人宅の近くにある丘に登った。

Had an enjoyable time!

楽しかった。

アイルランドの自然はやはり美しい。

Reunited

Back in Dublin, 

reunited with our dogs at last!

ダブリンで犬たちと再会！

We are delighted to discover that

the apple tree we transferred to my husband's father's house

when we sold our house before moving to Japan

is doing very well.

日本に引っ越す前に売った家の庭から

義父の庭に植え替えたリンゴの木とも再会。

無事に花までつけているのを見て嬉しかった。

      

Paris 2

As we were suffering from a jet lag and woke up at 4.30,

we decided to get up and do a bit of sightseeing

before going back to Dublin.

時差ぼけで2人とも4時半に目が覚め、

その後も眠れないので、

そのまま起きて観光にでかけることにした。

Paris

We stopped over in Paris on the way to Dublin.

I didn't like Paris when I was younger,

but I love it now.

ダブリンに戻る途中で

パリに一泊中。

若い頃はあまり好きじゃなかったけど、

今は大好きな街だ。

残念ながら土砂降りで、

その上、飛行機で移動中に仕事のメールが入っていて、

ホテルに籠って仕事中。

It's pouring rain outside,

and I received a work email while we were on the plane.

I can't go out to do sightseeing,

but I'm hoping to eat something nice tonight.

街で観光はムリそうだけど、

今晩何か美味しいもの食べよう。

犬達は今フランクフルト空港の

「アニマルラウンジ」にいるはず。

明日ダブリン空港で会おうね！！
