Overwhelmed...

Today when I came home from the morning walk with the doggies,

there was a postman at the door with a parcel from Japan.

(What a good timing!!)

It was from a couple in Sendai, whose daughter used to live in Ireland.

I send small gifts to them every Christmas,

and the parcel was sent in return of what I had sent.

今朝の犬散歩から帰って来たら、

ドアに郵便配達の男性が日本からの小包を持って立っていた。

（いいタイミング！）

小包は以前ダブリンに住んでいた日本人の友人の

仙台に住むご両親からであった。

毎年クリスマスにアイルランドから些細なギフトを送っているのだが、

それに対するお返しだった。 

It was much more valuable than what I had sent.

(Anyway, I told them in my letter 

not to send anything from Japan!!)

中身を見てビックリ。

私が送ったものよりもずっと高価なものが

沢山入っていたのだ。

（実際、私は同封した手紙に

お返しは本当に必要ないということを述べていたし！！）

There were more staff than this....
The two blue boxes are jewelery....
The Japanese sweets in the middle are delicious,
even though I don't normally like Japanese cakes.

写真のもの以外にも色々入っていた。
 手前の2つの青い箱にはアクセサリーが入っていた。
また、真ん中の仙台のゆべしは美味しかった。
実は和菓子が苦手なのだが、
これは美味しく頂いた。

I received from Japan.

シローは一緒に送って頂いた
アクリルたわしに 興味津々。

I also received a late Christmas present
from my student whom I teach Japanese to.

また、日本語を教えている生徒さんからも
少し遅めのクリスマスプレゼントを頂いた。

I am incredibly blessed and so grateful for
and overwhelmed by the people's generosity.

周囲の人々の優しさと寛大さに
感謝の気持ちでいっぱいだ。


I am also so lucky to have 2 lovely dogs.
そしてステキな犬達にも恵まれている。

I am such a lucky (former) girl:-))

I hope the dogs feel lucky to be living with us, too.
犬達も私と出会ったことに感謝してくれてるといいけど。
