Ex-Hurricane Ophelia

It was a rare thing Ireland got hit by a hurricane,

or a former hurricane.

(The hurricane had lost its eye by the time it arrived in Ireland,

so it was called "ex-hurricane Ophelia.)

アイルランドがハリケーンに直撃されるのは珍しい。

（実際は、アイルランドに着く前に「台風の目」

がなくなったので「元ハリケーン・オフィーリア」と呼ばれた。）

Dublin didn't have a lot of damages,

but some southeast of Ireland suffered severe damages.

ダブリンへの被害は少なかったが、

アイルランド南西部には大きな被害があった。

We took the doggies out before the ex-hurricane hit our area.

(My husband didn't have to go to work today.)

元ハリケーンがやって来る前に

犬達を散歩に連れて行った。

（夫の会社は休みになった。）

It was declared a national emergency

and all the schools and lots of shops were closed,

the public transports cancelled.

I had never seen anything like this before.

国家非常事態が宣言され、

全ての学校や多くの店が閉鎖され、

交通機関もキャンセルされた。

こんなのこの国に住み始めてから初めて見た。

On the weekend before the storm came.

I had to get some cash to have the iPad screen repaired,

so the doggies & my husband were waiting in the car

while I was at an ATM.

嵐が来る前の週末。

iPad の画面の修理のために現金が必要になったので、

ATM でお金を引き出している間

私を待っている犬達と夫。
