Spring 2017 Holiday in France 5

Today was our chore day--shopping and vet visit for the dogs.

We did it in Cherbourg.

今日は雑用の日−−買い物と獣医訪問。

シェルブールで済ませた。

We went to Auchan, 

the hypermarket I went to 3 years ago for shopping.

買い物には３年前にも来た

ハイパーマーケットのAuchan に行った。

The Japanese food section of the hypermarket

looks very jolly....

ハイパーマーケットの日本食セクションは

やけに楽しそうだ。

After that, we went for a picnic and a short walk nearby La Glacerie village.

その後はLa Glacerieでピクニックと散歩。

Then we went to a vet to get a worm treatment

for the dogs to be able to go back to Ireland.

そして犬達がフランスからの帰国するために必要な

獣医での手続きに行った。

Miffy was very funny--

when she was given a chewable tablet for worm treatment,

we thought she was eating it as she was looked like chewing--

but in fact, she wasn't eating at all!

(Eventually she ate it.)

ミッフィーにおやつ風になっている薬を無理やり飲ませたら、

何かを噛んでいるような素ぶりをみせたので

飲んでくれたのかと思ったら

飲むふりをしていただけだった。

（結局、無理やりではなく自然にあげたら普通に食べた。）

獣医で頂いた薬の箱には

日本スピッツっぽい犬の写真が使用されている。

Now I have no agenda so I can relax!

これで残りのホリデイを心置き無く楽しめる！

Spring 2017 Holiday in France 4

This morning, we drove to Saint-Pierre-Église, 

where we stayed 3 years ago.

It was about 20 minutes' drive from where we are staying this time.

今朝は２年前に滞在した町 Saint-Pierre-Église 

まで車で出かけた。

今回滞在している場所から車で約２０分ほど。

There was a market in the main square, but we didn't buy anything.

マーケットが開かれていたが何も買わなかった。

Then we drove to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue,

and walked around the harbour.

それから Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue に行き、

波止場周辺を散策した。

Came back to the accommodation for lunch,

and I discovered that I was given a work to do.

昼食のために宿に戻ったら、

翻訳の仕事の依頼のメールが来ていた。

So I worked while my husband and the doggies went Geocaching after lunch.

昼食後私は仕事をし、夫は犬達とGeocachingに出かけた。

I didn't take any photograph today,

so these are the photos from yesterday and the day before yesterday.

今日は写真を１枚も撮ってないので

これは昨日と一昨日撮った写真。

"Mummy is down there!"

「お母さんが下にいるよ！」

"Let's get down!"

We drove to Bayeux, a famous place with a tapestry,

which is a Unesco World Heritage.

今日はバイユーという街に行った。

ユネスコ世界遺産のタペストリーで有名な場所だ。

When we arrived there, the first thing I did was

going to Yves Rocher shop to buy some skin lotion bottles

for my French friend 🤗

まず最初に私がしたのは、Yves Rocher に行き、

フランス人の友人に頼まれていた

スキンローションを買うことであった🤗。

Then we had lunch at a restaurant near the cathedral.

それから大聖堂の近くで昼食。

 I had a galette with potatoes, mushrooms and gizzard.

It was very tasty.

私はジャガイモ、マッシュルーム、鴨の砂肝入りの

ガレットを食べた。

とても美味しかった。

We didn't see the tapestry!!

Instead we went inside the cathedral

which used to keep the tapestry.

(It has moved to the museum.)

何とここまで来たのに世界遺産のタペストリーは見なかった！

代わりに以前タペストリーがあった大聖堂の中を見た。

（タペストリーは現在博物館内で展示されている。）

There was information displayed on Father Marc de Rotz,

who went to Japan during the Meiji era as a missionary.

大聖堂の中にはここで牧師になり

明治時代に日本に渡った

マーク・ド・ロ神父に関する記述が展示されていた。

Then I and my husband went separate ways--

he went Geocaching with the doggies,

I rambled around the town.

それから夫とは別行動−−

夫は犬達とGeocaching、

私は街内を散策。

After we reunited, we drove to Omaha Beach,

noted for its "Normandy Landing".

This was also included in the film "Saving Private Ryan".

夫と合流後、オマハビーチまでドライブ。

ここは第２時大戦中ノルマンディ上陸作戦の地として有名になり、

映画「プライベートライアン」でも描写されている。

It was so peaceful and quiet that it was hard to imagine

such a gruesome event took place.

このような静かな浜辺で

あんな残虐な戦闘が行われたとは想像できない。

We need to be grateful of this peaceful moment.

平和に感謝。

Today we drove to the west coast of Normandy.

今日はノルマンディの西海岸に出かけた。

1. Jobourg

 

It's so close to Guernsey in the Channel Islands that

we were able to listen to BBC radio in the car.

And also I received this text! 

チャンネル諸島のガーンジー島にとても近いので

カーラジオでBBCを聞くことができた。

また、携帯にはこんなテキストまで来た！

3. Siouville

It was so warm and sunny that

we were able to sit outside.

とてもいいお天気で暖かかったので

外のテラス席に座ることができた。

My husband had several annual leave days to take before the end of March,

so we decided to go for a short break in France.

夫が３月末までに消化しなければならない有給休暇が数日あったので、

思い立ってフランスに旅行することになった。

Got a boat from Rosslare to Cherbourg.

ロスレアからシェルブールまでフェリーに乗った。

On the boat when we visited the doggies --

they had to stay in the kennel.

フェリー内でケネルにいる犬達に

A kind French gentleman took this for us.

親切なフランス人男性が写真を撮ってくれた。

We are staying in a place called Morsalines.

Morsalines という街に滞在中！

Handmade marimekko Shoulder Bag

I am obsessed with making a bag with marimekko fabric....

マリメッコの布地でまたバッグを作ってしまった。

It's still cold but spring is approaching certainly.

まだまだ寒いけど春は確かに近づいている。

I also did some gardening.

雨の合間をぬって少しガーデニングをした。

Dog Wash Day

We had a beautiful sunny morning today,

so I decided to wash the doggies.

今朝は珍しく晴れていたので

犬達を洗うことに決定！

Do I look clean? says Miffy

「キレイになった？」ミッフィー

Do I look fluffier? says Shiro.

「ふわふわになったかな？」シロー

Yes, you do!

なったよ〜！

The doggies are clean, 

but the sun room is not....

犬達はきれいになったけど、

「サンルーム」はキタナイね（涙）。
