Last Weekend in July 2

It did rain when we were preparing for BBQ.

バーベキュー準備中に案の定雨が降って来た。

それも大雨（笑）。

 My husband cooks from indoors LOL!

夫は家の中から必死にバーベキュー。

In the end we had cooked food outdoors and 

ate indoors.

結局屋外で料理して屋内で食べた。

It got sunny after the meal so we went out to

Cabinteely Park.

食事の後は晴れたので

Cabinteely公園で散歩。

We hadn't seen him for 6 years, 

but we really had a great time together.

お会いするのは6年振りだったけど、

楽しい時間を過ごした。

わざわざ家まで来てもらい

ありがとうございました、Sさん！

Last Weekend in July 1

Looks like the heat wave's gone,

but still the weather is a lot nicer than it normally would be.

先週の比べるとお天気は悪くなっているが、

それでも例年の夏よりもずっと暑くて嬉しい。

Went Geocaching with Jonathan in Three Rock Mountain.

クレアと子供達はフランスにいる。

Celebrating the 2000th cache for my husband

since February 2006.

７年半前にGeocachingを始めてから

2000個目の記念すべきキャッシュ発見。

We're going to have a BBQ after this.

A friend of mine came over from Japan to Ireland for work.

The weather so far looks a bit dodgy, though...

この後、仕事で日本からアイルランドに来ている

友人を招いてバーベキューの予定。

天気がちょっと心配.....。

Early Morning Walk on Killiney Hill

Went out for a walk after giving my husband

a lift to a Dart station.

夫を電車の駅まで車で送った後、

Killiney Hillで犬達と散歩した。

Such a bliss!

Our car has arrived at our driveway at last!

It took 2 months.

We needed to create a lot of documents 

before the Custom cleared and released the car.

日本から送った車がやっと来た！

ダブリン港には先週の日曜に着いたのだが、

税関をクリアするまで色々と大変だった。

これから登録して車検パスしなきゃいけないけど。

先週末に行ったマーリー公園にて。

My husband has started to cycle to work.

夫は自転車通勤を始めた。

I crocheted a linen orange hat.

リネンで帽子を編んでみた。

Home Baked Baguette

I baked 2 baguettes yesterday.

They didn't look great, but they were very tasty.

So I tried again, and this time,

it didn't look great (again),

but it was the nicest bread I've ever baked.

昨日バゲットを焼いた。

見かけはイマイチだが美味しかったので

今日もう一度焼いてみた。

やはり見かけはイマイチだが、

本当に美味しくできた。

今まで自分で焼いたパンの中で1番の出来。

But I'm totally at a loss about where to store all the stuff.

日本から送った段ボール15個とソファーが

やっと今日届いた。

嬉しいけどこれらのものを

一体どこに片付ければいいのか不安...。

Birthday Girl (Not Really....)

5 July is Miffy's birthday.

Well, as we adopted her from a dog rescue centre,

we don't know when her real birthday is,

so the day we adopted her is her birthday.

She's 6 this year. 

(Her microchip was registered 6 years ago.)

7月5日はミッフィーの誕生日。

というか、ミッフィーはレスキューセンター

からやってきたので本当の誕生日は不明。

それで私たちが引き取った日を誕生日にした。

今年で6歳。

（マイクロチップが登録されたのが6年前）

We had a barbecue to celebrate her birthday,

and she was supposed to get a beef bone that evening.

But she didn't get it on her birthday,

 as she stole a sausage from the barbecue grill(!!).

当日はバーベキューをしてお祝いし（人間が）、

その後プレゼントにビーフボーンをあげるつもりだったけど、

ミッフィーはバーベキュー中に 

ソーセージをグリルから盗むという暴挙に出たため、

ビーフボーンはお預けになった。

Today she finally received her belated birthday gift.

そして今日そのビーフボーンをプレゼント。

ミッフィーが来て

もう3年も経ったのは不思議な気持。

「ミッフィー・インポッシブル」というあだ名もある。

We are having a bit of mini heat wave and

the weather is absolutely gorgeous.

The temperature may hit the legendary 30s

for the next couple of days!

とても天気が良くて暑いくらいだ。

日本のように湿気がないのでとても快適。

本当に嬉しい。

こちらに来て20年だが

まだ経験してない30度台も夢じゃない感じ。

Went out for a walk in Sandycove.

As it was hot & sunny,

a lot of people were out there,

and it had a great festive atmosphere.

Sandycoveに出かけてみた。

いいお天気で本当に沢山の人々が

海岸沿いを散策していて、

とてもいい雰囲気だった。

There was a funfair in Dun Laoghaire.

お隣のダンレアリーには仮設遊園地が。

Lovely Correspondence from 1969

A friend of mine tweeted about a letter,

her diplomat father-in-low had sent in Canada in 1969,

in reply to a letter from a 11-year-old girl

who was asking about bringing a cat from Canada to Ireland.

 The documents are shown @DIFP_RIA.

外交官だった友人の父が1969年にカナダ駐在中に、

11歳の女の子から

猫をアイルランドに連れて行くことに関する質問が寄せられ、

それに対する解答の手紙が公開されたことを、

友人の奥さん（も私の友人）がツイートした。
その手紙が素晴らしいのでここで紹介したい。
