Lulu the Japanese Spitz at Knocrose Garden

Today the people in our crochet class got together

at Knocrose Garden.

今日はKnocrose Gardenで

かぎ針編みのクラスのメンバーが集まった。

There is a Japanese Spitz-in-Residence there called

"Lulu".

ルルちゃんという日本スピッツのマスコット犬が

かわいくお出迎え。

Very curios and quiet.

Lulu is a rescue dog, and I'm glad

she has a very happy life now.

ルルちゃんは元保護犬だ。

辛い経験を経たけど

今は幸せそうで本当によかった。

"Roll Over!" said I.

After the crochet session, myself, Ruth and Joan

went out to see the lovely garden.

編み物の後はルースとジョーンと３人で

お庭を見せていただいた。

There are plaques with Basho Matsuo's haikus.

松尾芭蕉の英訳された俳句が

ところどころに見られた。

I'd like to go back again!

また行きたい。

Spitz Husky Pair in Dublin

I came back from Osaka about a week ago.

I put several photos together for 

some of the food I had in Japan.

日本から戻ってきて約１週間。

日本での食事の写真を数枚こちらにアップした。

Last weekend, we had a walk along the river Dodder.

And then we came across another Japanese spitz and a husky!

先週末はDodder川のほとりを犬たちと散歩した。

その際、日本スピッツとハスキー犬に遭遇！！

Pity I forgot to ask the names....

スピッツくんは私たちの犬より大きめだった。

ワンちゃんたちの名前を聞くのを忘れて残念！

ARIMA HOT SPRING RESORT - OSAKA

Both of us are already back in Dublin,

but I'm going to add a few things I did/saw in Japan.

もう私も夫もダブリンに戻っているが、

日本でやったことをもう少し書き留めたい。

We visited my friend's mother-in-law in Arima hot spring resort.

She was in a good form, and I was happy to see her

looking forward to seeing us again.

今年も有馬温泉に出向き、

アイルランド人の友人のお姑さんに会ってきた。

お元気そうで嬉しかった。

After having an enjoyable time with her,
we had to try one of the onsens.

その後は勿論温泉に入った。

And back in Osaka.

ZUSHI & YOKOHAMA

I'm already back in Osaka,

and my husband's back in Ireland now.

We went to stay with our friends in Zushi, Kanagawa,

after Odawara.

I wanted to update my blog long time ago,

but my husband brought back the SD card

I was using with my camera,

so I have very few photos I took with my phone.

私はもう大阪に戻っているし、

その上夫もアイルランドに戻っている。

小田原のあとは、逗子の友人宅にお世話になった。

その時の写真を使ってブログを更新したかったのだが、

夫が私が使っていたSDカードを

間違えてアイルランドに持って帰ってしまい、

私がスマホで撮ったイマイチな写真しか残っていない。

Pity as we visited an interesting cave near Ofuna.

興味深い田谷の洞窟にも行ったのに、残念。

Had Korean food in Yokohama with a friend.

横浜にて別の友人と韓国料理をいただいた。

ODAWARA

We moved southwest to Odawara from Sendai.

I don't know why I chose this destination, but

we enjoyed it anyway.

仙台から小田原に移動。

知り合いもいないし

特に行く理由もなかったが、

この後に行くことになっている場所に便利なので

ここに1泊した。

SENDAI 3

We rented a car and headed towards west to

Akiu Hot Spring Resort, 

and saw a spectacular waterfall.

仙台3日目はレンタカーを借りて

西方向へドライブ。

秋保大滝に行ってみた。

 After lunch, we discussed where to go,

and decided to go back towards east.

Eventually, we went to Shichigahama.

The effect of the earthquake 4 years ago was still visible,

but I thought it was remarkably making a recovery.

昼食後、どこに行こうか夫と相談したが

結局仙台市内方向に向かって東にドライブした。

そのまま七が浜半島まで行ってみた。

震災の傷跡はまだ残っていたが

町並みの回復振りが印象に残った。

We climbed Tamonzan and enjoyed the

lovely view of small islands.

多門山に登ってそこから見える

美しい島々を眺めた。

 We also saw lovely flowers.

We met a friend of mine for dinner at a Japanese style pub.

The food was excellent!

夕食には仙台の別の友人とたら福という

居酒屋で食事。

美味しかった。

仙台の食べ物は美味しい！ 

こちらのお店のBGMは

昭和40年代後半から50年代前半の、

私が幼少の頃によく聞いた

歌謡曲ばかりが流れていて

懐かしくて、何億年間も忘れ去られていた

脳の細胞が刺激されるような感じだった（笑）。

SENDAI 2

In the morning, we visited my friend's grave.

Her parents kindly drove us there.

午前中は、友人のお墓参りに行った。

友人のご両親がご親切にも車で一緒に行って下さった。

In the afternoon, we took a "Loople Bus" and

visited  a couple of famous sites.

Only 3 sites listed are open on Monday,

but it suited us fine as my husband has got a cold

and we didn't want to spend a lot time sightseeing anyway.

 午後は「ループル仙台」という

乗り降り自由なハトバスで市内観光をした。

月曜日は3つの観光地しか開いてないが、

夫が風邪で体調が悪かったので

ちょうどよかった。

First, we saw "Zuihoden".

最初に瑞鳳殿を見た。

And visited "Aoba Castle".

そして青葉城。

The statue of "Date Masamune".

伊達政宗の銅像。

An "Omikuji" vending machine.

"Shishimai" dances and chooses a "kuji" for you.

獅子舞が踊って選んでくれる

自動おみくじ器（笑）。

In the evening, we reunited with my friend's parents.

They invited us to "Hanahan".

Very, very nice.

夜は再び友人のご両親と合流し、

「花はん」でお食事をご馳走して頂いた（大恐縮）。

とても美味しくて感動。

 私が友人に会いたくて勝手に仙台に来ているのに、

ご両親には本当に良くして頂き、

感謝の気持ちでいっぱいだ。

 

 

 

SENDAI 1

We're in Sendai to meet a couple of people I know.

今は知り合いに会う為に仙台にいる。

Used Tohoku Shinkansen "Yamabiko".

東北新幹線のやまびこを利用。

OSAKA

I'm in Osaka for our annual trip home.

4月恒例の帰国のため今大阪に滞在中。

We were supposed to fly to Japan with KLM,

but due to their overbooking problem,

we were transferred to Finnair.

フライトはKLMを予約したのだが、

日本への往路はオーバーブッキングのため、

フィンランド航空に変更された。

I saw this cuddly toy

at The Helsinki Airport.

It's an arctic fox, but

I had to buy it!!

乗り換えのヘルシンキ空港の免税店で

このホッキョクギツネのぬいぐるみを見た。

これは買うしかない！！

And Finnair serves drinks with a marimekko cup!

フィンランド航空では

飲み物にはマリメッコのマグが使われている！
