Killiney Hill with New Harnesses

I hope it will start to get warmer soon....

早く暖かくならないかな〜。

After the Storm

We had several horrible rainy days 

because of storm named "Doris".

I didn't want to use the new harnesses 

during the bad weather,

but today I was able to use them after the storm.

「ドリス」と名付けられた嵐が来たので

ここ数日間非常に悪い天気が続いていた。

しかし嵐も去り、今日は雨ではないので

新しいハーネスを早速使用してみた。

Speaking of "After the Storm",

we went to see a Japanese film called "After the Storm" yesterday.

Details of an apartment one of the characters lives in

really reminded me of Japan

(for example, "beaded curtain" 

to separate between a kitchen and a living room).

「嵐の後」と言えば、

英題で『嵐の後』となっている映画

『海よりもまだ深く』を昨日見に行った。

国際映画フェスティバルの一環で上映されていたのだ。

日本の古い団地での生活が非常にリアルだった。

とくに台所の入り口にかけられた

「ビーズの暖簾」を見たとき、

「こういうのあったあった！」と

懐かしくて不思議な気分だった。

出演している俳優の方々もみんな上手くて

よい映画でした。

Another New Harness

I made another harness.

ハーネスをもう１つ縫ってみた。

As I used fabric with "Miffy" pictures,

maybe this is for Miffy.

「ミッフィー」柄の布地を使ったので

これはミッフィー用かな。

It was very windy today.

The doggies were embracing the wind in the garden.

今日は風が強かった。

でも犬達は全然気にもとめず、

庭で全身で風を受け止めていた。

New Harness

I sewed a new harness for the doggies.

I haven't decided which dog this is for,

but Miffy is modelling it in the photos.

犬達のためにハーネスを縫ってみた。

自己流なので型紙なし。

どちらようにするのかは決めてないが、

とりあえずミッフィーがモデルになってくれた。

Today I saw these "Japanese pears" in a greengrocer.

今日青果店で「日本の梨」を発見。

（こちらで梨といえば普通は

「ラ・フランス」のこと。）

Unfortunately they weren't very sweet.

The staff in the shop said these are getting very popular,

but only available about 2 weeks a year.

残念ながらあんまり甘くなかった。

お店のおじさんが、

「最近すごく人気があるんだけど、

１年で２週間くらいしか手にはいらないんだよ」

と言ってた。

Yes, the Japanese pears are very seasonal in Japan,

and normally it's in autumn....

確かに梨は季節のものだけど、

２月じゃなくて秋なんだけどな...。

Kildare Weekend

On Saturday we drove to Kildare to visit fabric outlet.

I did not find anything I want, but we had a lovely walk 

along the River Liffey.

土曜日は、布地のアウトレットを目当てにKildareまでドライブ。

結局私が欲しい布地はなかったのだが、

その後はリフィー川の川沿いを犬達と散歩。

On Sunday we drove to Kildare again 

as my husband wanted to do Geocaching

along the Grand Canal.

日曜日も再びKildareまでドライブ。

運河沿いでジオキャッシングをしたいという

夫のためである。

キャッシュを探している夫。

Then we arrived at Cliff at Lyons,

a hotel and restaurant complex created

in the site of a big mansion built in the 18th century.

そして18世紀に建てられた屋敷跡に

作られたホテルやレストランなどがある

Cliff at Lyonsに着いた。

The doggies waiting for my husband.

犬達が夫が出てくるのを待っている。

I got tired out but it was an enjoyable walk.

疲れたけど楽しかった。

What I Made on St Valentine's Day

1. A Linen Shirt

I went to a sewing class for 2 months and finished this today.

Modern linen shirts are paper thin, but 

I wanted a thick heavy "almost like a jacket" linen shirt.

I'm quite happy with the result.

2. リネンのシャツ

２ヶ月間ソーイング教室に通って今日完成した。

ペラペラのリネンじゃなくてどっしりとした重量感のある

「麻」のシャツが欲しかったのだがどこにも売ってないので

自分で作ってみた。

結果にはかなり満足している。

2. Pistachio shortbread biscuits.

My husband absolutely loves them.

2. ピスタチオショートブレッド。

夫がすごく気に入ってくれた。

3. Roasted chicken for dinner.

3. 夕食にはローストチキン。

（一応バレンタイン用スペシャルディナー）

My husband bought me these lovely flowers and chocolates

for Valentine's Day.

バレンタインデー用に夫が花束とチョコレートを買ってくれた。

The doggies don't care.

(They were interested in the roasted chicken, though.)

犬達は無関心。

（ローストチキンには興味深々だったが）

I finished this hat yesterday.

この帽子は昨日完成。

Killiney Hill

Yesterday I took the doggies to Killiney Hill.

昨日はいいお天気だったので犬達と Killiney Hill に出かけた。

Miffy looking so cute!

ミッフィー可愛い！

Miffy starting to look uneasy....

ミッフィーが少し不安な表情になってきた。

That's because there were a lot of dogs nearby.

それはたくさんの犬が近くにいるから。

This puppy dashed towards me

when I was trying to give Miffy a treat.

ミッフィーにおやつをあげようとしていたら

この右側のパピーが私に突撃してきた（笑）。

So we moved away a bit and took more photos.

そこで場所を少し移動して写真を撮った。

At home.

家では。

シローは「家政婦が見た」状態。

I baked some muffins.

マフィンを焼いて見た。

Today is a work day.....

今日はお仕事お仕事。
