2017 Christmas Holiday 1

On 27th, we drove to Northern Ireland to do some shopping.

My husband bought 2 pairs of shoes at Banbridge Outlet,

and another pair of shoes at Debenhams in Newry.

I bought nothing (apart from some grocery in Sainsbury),,,,

27日には北アイルランドに日帰りで出かけた。

夫はアウトレットのTimbalandで靴2足、

NewryでJasper Conranの靴1足購入。

私は結局サイズがなくて何も買わなかった...。

In Hillsborough, we met up with

my husband's sister and her husband

at a dog friendly pub called Hillside Hillsborough.

(Her husband is from the North,

and they were staying at his parents' house.)

夫の妹夫妻と合流。

夫の妹の旦那さんが北アイルランド出身で

クリスマス休暇は旦那さんの実家に滞在している。

On 29th, we went out for a walk in Tibradden wood.

29日はTibradden woodでハイキング

We met a Japanese spitz X Yorkshire terrier cross

called "Gus".

His father is a Japanese spitz.

お父さんが日本スピッツ、お母さんがヨークシャーテリア

というガス君に遭遇。

It was a lovely sunny day.

寒かったが良いお天気の1日だった。

St. Stephen's Day Walk

I forgot to take photos of the goose my husband roasted for

Christmas yesterday.

昨日クリスマス用のディナーに

夫がローストしたグースの写真を撮り忘れた。

It rained all day on Christmas day,

but it was a lovely sunny day the following day--St. Stephen's Day.

クリスマス当日は1日中雨であったが、

翌日の聖スティーブンの日はいい天気であった。

Had a lovely walk with the doggies

in Monkstown.

犬達とMonkstownで散歩。

Gearing up for Christmas

Used this table crochet for the first time,

as we were inviting friends (a couple) for dinner.

I think I developed the tennis elbows because of this.

However, I think it's lovely.

この手作りテーブルクロスを初めて使った。

これを編んでいる時にテニス肘を患った曰く付きの

テーブルクロスである。

この日は友人夫妻を夕食に招待していた。

Today we need to do last minute shopping before Christmas.

We are inviting my husband's father and his wife for dinner tomorrow.

今日はクリスマス直前の最後の買い物。

明日は義父夫妻をクリスマスディナーに招待している。

The doggies and the tree are ready, too!

犬達もツリーも準備完了！

Only one of them is ready, though....

準備ができているのは１人だけだけどね。

I am surprised to see we still have nemesia flowers

and new lavender flowers.

ネメシアがまだ咲き続けている。

その上ラベンダーの花が咲き出したのにはビックリ。

There are doggie fur on the flowers 😅

花に白いスピッツ毛がついている😅

Nose!!

In Monkstown.

モンクスタウンにて。

We bumped into my husband's colleague and his wife there.

ここで夫の同僚と奥さんにバッタリ。

They said their daughter is 13 years old now.

Last time I met them, she was about 6 or 7....

二人のお嬢さんの話になりもう13歳と聞いてビックリ。

前回会った時はお嬢さんは6〜7歳くらいだったはず...。

The Kitchen Renovation 5

The big part of the renovation project finished today!

とりあえず台所改装の主な部分は今日終了！

 The wall colour is Dulux "Sea Smoke".

壁の色は Dulux 「Sea Smoke」。

We painted one of the walls in 

Johnstone's "Crushed Pinapple"

as a kind of statement.

We are going to hang paintings we bought

from my husband's company in May.

１面だけ黄色に塗った。

ここに５月に夫の会社から買った

絵を飾ろうという計画である。

 

We got a Quooker tap.

We can get boiling filtered water from the tap.

Quooker の蛇口を設置。

蛇口から沸騰したフィルターを通した

お湯が出る。

We still have to put a ceiling lamp

and curtains/blinds,

but we stop here for the moment

as the busy Christmas time is coming up.

天井のランプやカーテン、ブラインド

などまだまだ必要なものもあるが、

クリスマスもあり

忙しくなるのでとりあえずこのプロジェクトは

来年再開するまで一旦休憩である。

I'm soooo happy!

ああ嬉しい嬉しい。

There was a time I wasn't sure if we would get a nice kitchen.

本当に改装は成功するのか不安になった時期もあったが。

The Kitchen Renovation 4

After many "hiccups", the kitchen renovation

was resumed  yesterday.

We got the worktop in the morning.

２つの業者の手違いやらなんやらで

停滞していたキッチンの改装が

やっと昨日再開。

午前中にカウンターの台が設置された。

In the afternoon we got the missing doors

for the island unit.

午後には業者が配送し忘れ、

設置できなかった

アイランドユニットのドアが設置された

I was very stressed about being too busy from work

and the kitchen renovation going nowhere.

But I feel much better now.

仕事が忙しすぎるのと、

キッチンの改装が全然進まないことで

ストレス溜まっていたのだが、

これでかなり元気がでた！

Snow

It got very cold over the weekend

and the mountains near our house were 

covered with snow.

週末に急に寒くなり、

近くにある山が雪で覆われた。

My husband took the doggies to the mountain,

so that the doggies could play with the snow.

(I stayed at home to work....)

犬達が大好きな雪で遊べるようにと、

夫が山まで犬達を連れて行った。

（私は家で仕事詰め...。）

The next day I had finished most of the work,

so we all went to the mountain.

翌日は、仕事が殆ど終わったので、

私も一緒に山に行った。

However, it seemed a lot of people 

had a similar idea--

the car park was absolutely filled with

cars of families with children.

So we gave up, and went to Marlay Park instead.

しかしながら、日曜は

同じように考えた人がたくさんいたようで、

駐車場は雪遊びをするためにやって来た

家族連れの車でいっぱいだった。

結局あきらめて Marlay Park に行った。

I think the doggies enjoyed the walk anyway!

雪と遊べなくても犬達は楽しかったみたいだ。

Work Work Work

I am drowning in the work....

今、仕事で絶賛溺れ中。

I know I should be grateful for

people who trust me and value me.

私を信頼して仕事を依頼してくる

お客様に感謝。

But I'm too busy....

でも、ちょっと忙し過ぎ....。

The doggies' job is to wait for treats.

ワンコ達の仕事はオヤツを待つこと。

They Are Watching and So Am I

The Kitchen Project has stalled

until the work top is installed

(and I don't know when that happens)....

台所改装計画はちょっと行き止まりである。

カウンターの台が設置されるまで、

電気工も配管工も来てくれないらしい。

（電気工が壁のソケットを

設置するまで壁を塗ることもできないし。）

Our doggies don't care about the kitchen.

そんなことは犬達には御構い無しである。
