Staycationing in Valentia Island, Co. Kerry 3

 

First, we crossed the bridge to the mainland
and drove to Staigue Fort,

a big Iron Age fort used by chieftains.

まず橋を渡って本土に行き、

ステイグ・フォートという

鉄器時代に作られて

地方の首長が使った砦を見に行った。

On our way to the fort,

we spotted seals on a rock in the sea!

砦に行く途中に

海岸の岩にいるアザラシを発見！

Then we drove to Derrynane House,

the house Daniel O'Connell was born.

それからダニエル・オコンネルの

生まれた家であるデリナン・ハウスに向かった。

We walked around the garden,

and had lunch at the cafe.

家には入らず、庭を散歩してから

カフェでランチをいただいた。

Then we visited Derrynane Beach.

It got sunny & hot so we had a great time.

その後は近くのビーチに行った。

ちょっと晴れて暑くなったので

楽しい時間を過ごすことができた。

We also walked to Abby Island and

saw Daniel O'Connell's wife's grave.

すぐ隣にあるアビー島に徒歩で渡り、

ダニエル・オコンネルの妻のお墓も見た。

On our way home, we were able to see

Skellig Michael.

帰路の途中で

スケリッグ・マイケルを見た。

Just before we went home,

we saw Loher Fort.

This fort is for ordinary people,

so it was smaller.

宿に戻る直前に

ロハール砦を見た。

これは首長ではなく

一般人用のものだそうだ。

We were very lucky with the weather

as the weather forecast wasn't particularly good.

Had a lovely day!

天気予報はイマイチだったが、

結局晴れて暑くなったりして

非常に楽しい1日になった！
