Last Day of Summer

Traditionally in Ireland,

autumn starts from August.

That means, today is the last day of summer.

(In reality, August is still summer, though.)

アイルランドでは伝統的に暦の上では

秋は8月から始まる。

つまり、今日で夏は終りということだ。

（実際はそんなことないけれど。）

I had to go to hospital for a health check.

Somehow 2 birds were standing right outside a door.

検査を受ける為に行った病院で撮った写真。

何故か鳥が二羽外から中を見ていた。

After dinner, we went to Killiney Hill.

夕食後はKilliney Hillへ。

 So many dogs!

 Shiro was petrified

as he was surrounded by 3 dogs.

(Miffy seems to be laughing at him...)

他の犬が苦手なシローは

3匹のワンちゃん達に囲まれて固まる。

Surprises at Supermarkets

Marks & Spencer now has a special section for Japanese food.

 キューピーマヨネーズが日本円にして1000円以上！

一体買う人はいるのであろうか...?

In any case, I'm very surprised and impressed.

 Saw a cake in the shape of Italy at Supervalu,

where they're having an Italian Fair.

It's a real cake!

Very good!

よくできている！

Today I took the dogs 

to a green area near the house we used to live.

They were very excited.

今日は以前住んでいた家の近くに

犬達と散歩に行った。

久しぶりなので犬達大喜び。

And they were happy together at home, too.

家のキッチンでも仲良しでハッピー！

Summerly Weekend

We're having unusually hot days here in Ireland.

今年も珍しく暑くて湿気の多い夏になっている。

On Saturday, I went out for a lunch at One Pico with a friend.

土曜日に友人とOne Picoでランチのために街に出た。

And saw musicians playing some music

in front of St. Stephen's Green.

聖スティーブンズ・グリーンの前で

何かの楽隊が音楽を演奏していた。

I've been sorting out my computer's hard disc.

最近ずっと自分のコンピューターの

ハードディスクを整理している。

photos stored.

写真を整理している時に見つけた。

Encountered a Japanese spitz in France in 2008.

2008年にフランスで出会った日本スピッツとシロー。

手前がシロー。

2009年にフランスで出会った日本スピッツとシロー。

後がシロー。

Shiro as a puppy with a big dogfish!

Shiro smelt of fish for a long time after this--

he was a fishy dog!

 赤ちゃんの時のシローとアブラツノザメ。

この後シローが魚臭くてfishy dogとなった。

シローがもっと小さい時！

 

Sadly we have no photos of Miffy when she was a puppy,

as we adopted her when she was fully grown up.

I just hope her previous master still keeps those photos...

残念ながら、ミッフィーが赤ちゃんの時の写真は

私達にはない。

ミッフィーの以前の飼い主さんが写真を今でも

大事に所有していることを願っている。

 

Enjoy Daily Chores!

Normal days are back.

However, with the house renovation in progress,

things might be a bit more hectic now.

スイスの出張も終り、

平常の生活が戻ってきた。

勿論、家のリフォームは続いているので

色々やることはある。

 Miffy adds some excitement to my normal day

by spreading a lot of white footprints on the floor,

while we were painting the windowsills.

 ミッフィーがペンキの足跡を床にいっぱいつけて

私の平常の生活を少し非日常にする（笑）。

Took the dogs out for a walk in the sunshine.

My favourite chore!

いいお天気の中、犬達と散歩を楽しむ。 

My other chore (or hobby).

ドイリーも作った。

And painted the living room walls.

The colour is Dulux, Providence.

I bought Swiss wine as it's supposed to be good.

I didn't know which one to buy as I don't drink alcohol,

so I picked this at random.

スイスのワインは美味しいというので、

お酒は飲まないが夫のために適当に選んで購入。

I'm in Lausanne in Switzerland now.

I needed to get up at 4 today to go to the airport so I'm exhausted...

仕事でスイスのローザンヌに滞在中。

今朝は4時起きで空港に行ったので疲れた。

タクシーの窓から見えたひまわりの畑。

Vietnamese spring rolls I had for dinner.

夕食に食べたベトナム風春巻。

The real work starts tomorrow.

本当の仕事は明日からなので頑張る！

Went Geocaching to Blessington.

Blessingtonにジオキャッシングに出かけた。

Dropped by at Tymon Park to have a picnic.

ピクニックするために帰りにTymon公園に寄った。

Saw a huge swan.

巨大な白鳥と遭遇。

 

Renovation I

We have had a stove installed a few days ago,

as the house doesn't have a fireplace.

購入した家に暖炉がなかったので

２、３日前にストーブを設置。

 As you can see, the workers had to make a hall on the wall

in order to install the stove.

So we had to paint all the walls of the living room.

写真でも分かるように、

ストーブを設置するのに壁に穴をあける必要があったので、

今日は居間の壁のペンキ塗りをした。

I tried to take the dogs out for a walk

while my husband was painting the walls,

but Miffy wouldn't go without my husband!

So I decided to leave her at home.

夫がペンキを塗っている間、

犬達を散歩に連れて行こうとしたが、

ミッフィーはどうしても

夫抜きでは行こうとしない！

And Shiro wasn't very happy about the

disruption of the living room and the house.

シローはシローで

居間や家中がひっくり返っていることに

不安を感じていたようだ。

It's only the beginning, doggies!

There'll be many more days like this for a long time.

I hope you'll cope well...

家のリフォームはまだ始まったばかり。

これからもしばらくは色々とやることがいっぱいある。

犬達にはかわいそうだけど。

Went for a walk in Killiney Hill after dinner.

At our local convenience store.

while my husband was choosing ice cream.

 近くのコンビニで

夫がアイスクリームを買っているのを

犬達と待っている様子が

店内の防犯カメラに映っている。
