Kishiwada

Went to Kishiwada City to accompany my husband 

on his Geocaching day out.

ジオキャッシングに行く夫について

岸和田に行って来た。

Kishiwada Castle

岸和田城

Street with old houses.

古い家並みが目を引く通り。

However, Kishiwada for me is always a 

location site for TV programme "Carnation".

しかし、私に取って岸和田といえば

ドラマ「カーネーション」。

   

去年の2月に1週間、

そして3月の最後の2週間しか見なかったけど、

すっかりハマってしまい、

4月の総集編も一生懸命見た。

Museum for the TV drama.

ドラマのための博物館。

勿論「オハラ洋装店」。

こちらは本名の

「洋裁コシノ」。

この2つは同じ商店街にある。

この商店街は今にも「糸ちゃん」が

出てきそうな感じがして

何かドキドキした。

そして同じ商店街にある

中華そばの店の看板。

箸と麺は動いていた...。

   

NHKの朝ドラのロケーションに出かけてしまうなんて、

子供の頃は「そんな大人がいるんだ〜」と思っていたが、

すっかりそんな大人になってしまった。

Made some more hats....

相変わらずの帽子作り。

For Hubby.

For my friend's son.

The beret's pattern came from this book.

10ヶ月になる友人のお子さん用。

ベレーの編み図は『Crochet in No Time』という本から。

今年の冬の帽子作りはもうオシマイ！

Worry Over (For the Moment)

Last Thursday morning, 

Shiro suddenly started to cry and

seemed to be in a lot of pain.

I was very worried and

took him to the vet the first thing in the morning.

The diagnosis was "spinal disc herniation".

先週の木曜日の朝、

シローが突然キャンキャン啼き、

痛さのあまりぶるぶる震えだした。

朝一番で病院に連れて行くと、

「椎間板ヘルニア」と診断された。

After taking medication for a week,

I took him to the vet again for a check.

The vet said Shiro is fine now.

一週間経った今日再診に行くと、

薬が効いたようで

激しい運動さえさければ、   

シローはもう大丈夫だと言われた。

GREAT NEWS!!

よかった！！

心配したんだよーーーー（涙）。

     

Plum Blossoms in Kozen Park

Went to see plum blossoms in Kozen Park in Sakai City.

However, there were more buds than flowers yet, 

due to the cold winter this year.

(Sounds similar to last week's daffodil hill.)

荒山（こうぜん）公園の梅を見に行ったけど、

まだ三分咲きというところだった。

残念だったけど、お天気は良かったし、

いい気持ちで散歩できた。

With a wire fox terrier.

The owner family's daughter's 

very interested in Ireland.

 

ワイヤーフォックステリアと。

飼い主の方のお嬢さんが、

アイルランドに夢中なんだそうだ。

 There is a shrine called 

"Tajihayahime" beside the park.

It is supposed to have been built

in the 6th century. 

隣にある多治速比売神社（たじはやひめじんじゃ） 。

本殿は国の重要文化財に指定されている。

（勿論、外からは全く見えない。）

More Hand Made Hats

I declare 2013 Year of the Hat.

Now I've made 8 hats this year so far...

まだ帽子を作り続けている。

This is for Dad.

父用。

編み図には

編み込みこもの ミトン、帽子、ソックス… (Let’s Knit series)

 を使用。

 And this is for myself.

自分用。編み図はなし。

自分で適当に作成。

 

Shiro is the (unwilling) model.

（似合わない！）   

   These are not the last hats I make this winter.

I am currently making a hat for one of my uncles.

And when my husband saw the blue hat for Dad,

he seemed to really like it.

That means, I will be making a similar hat for him.

現在叔父のために帽子を作成中。

そして父に作った帽子を見た夫が

「これいいな〜〜」と

非常に気に入った様子なので、

似た帽子を作ることになりそう。      

ミッフィーちゃん、

ブランケットもうちょっとお待ちを！

Chihayaakasaka Mura

Went to Chihayaakasaka Mura, 

the only remaining village in Osaka 

in order to see the "Daffodil Hills".  

Unfortunately not a lot of daffodils were in bloom 

due to the unusually cold winter.  

Nonetheless, we had a good time walking in the sunshine.

大阪で唯一の村、千早赤阪村の「スイセンの丘」に行って来た。 

寒冬のせいでまだ五分咲きだった。

Most historical sites are associated with

Masashige Kusunoki, a samurai in the 14th century. 

  千早赤阪村は何でもかんでも楠木正成一色であった。

 例えば奉建塔。

 楠公産湯の井戸

Chihayaakasaka Mura's mascot is called "Masashige-kun".

千早赤阪村のマスコットは「まさしげくん」。

 

Hand Made Hat

This winter I made 6 woolly hats.
4 knitted hats

 (2 for my father, 1 for my uncle, 1 for my friend).
2 crocheted hats  

(1 for my friend, 1 for myself).

For the 2 crocheted hats, I used the same pattern 

in a magazine I bought in Spain 2 years ago.

今年の冬は毛糸の帽子ばっかり作ってた。
6つ作った内、5つはプレゼントで1つは自分用。

自分用の帽子の編み図は、
2年前にスペインで買った雑誌のものを使用。

I made the hat and the scarf on the cover

for a friend of mine in Ireland

2 years ago.

   実はこの表紙の帽子とマフラーは、

一昨年に友人のために作った。

 

 

This hat is for myself.
Miffy is the (confused) model.
自分用の帽子。
モデルはミッフィー。
（こういうのはシローは絶対やってくれない。） 

 

While making these hats, 

I had to temporarily stop making the rug for Miffy.
ミッフィーのブランケットがまだ途中。

（ごめんねー。）

Setsubun

1. Went out to Fukai, Sakai City to see some Setsubun events.

 Too crowded to do anything, 

but at least took some photos of "Oni".

And Shiro saw some turtles at Mizuga Ike.

節分のイベントに出かけたけど

人がいっぱいで豆まきも餅つきも見れなかった。

でも、暖かくていいお天気で、

外に出るだけでも楽しかった。 

2. Went out to Nunose Shrine to see the Setsubun Festival.

Very interesting.

I was asked to go up to Honden (sanctuary) 

to do take part in the tsuina ceremony!

The chief priest was very friendly.

And the kind local ladies let my husband light the lanterns.

We also saw "nohkan" (Japanese bamboo flute) played

inside the sanctuary 

and also outside surrounded by lanterns.

布忍神社の節分追儺祭に行った。

追儺式で指名されて本殿に上がらせて頂いた。

宮司さんはとても親切な方で、

外国人の夫を大歓迎してくれ、

地元の婦人会の女性達も夫に万灯ろうのろうそくに

火をつけるように促してくれた。

最後は万灯ろうに囲まれての能管演奏を堪能。

  

3. Had "Ehoumaki" and threw beans. 

最後は恵方巻きと豆まき。 

 この光景は犬がいる日本の家庭で多く見られたことであろう。

 （注：犬に豆は投げてない。）

The dogs are not scared of "Oni" at all...

犬達は鬼が大好きな模様。

Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park

It was an unusually warm day today.

The highest temperature in Osaka was more than 17°C!

We went out to Tsurumi Park, where 

Expo '90 (The International Garden and Greenery Exposition) took place.

暖かくて、もうそれだけで幸せな１日だった。

鶴見緑地にピクニック持参で出かけた。

２月なのに、スゴイ！

In front of the windmill.

春にはチューリップでいっぱいになる

風車の前もいまは何も無い。

When we approached the Irish pavillion,

the doggies suddenly started running inside.

And ran the whole area. 

Were they reminded of where they were born?

アイルランドのパビリオンで、

犬達は急に走り出し、

大喜びで中を一周した。 

懐かしく思ったのか？

 

Shiro swam in the stream near "Niagara Falls".

シローは「ナイアガラの滝」近くの川で泳いだ。
