Setsubun

1. Went out to Fukai, Sakai City to see some Setsubun events.

 Too crowded to do anything, 

but at least took some photos of "Oni".

And Shiro saw some turtles at Mizuga Ike.

節分のイベントに出かけたけど

人がいっぱいで豆まきも餅つきも見れなかった。

でも、暖かくていいお天気で、

外に出るだけでも楽しかった。 

2. Went out to Nunose Shrine to see the Setsubun Festival.

Very interesting.

I was asked to go up to Honden (sanctuary) 

to do take part in the tsuina ceremony!

The chief priest was very friendly.

And the kind local ladies let my husband light the lanterns.

We also saw "nohkan" (Japanese bamboo flute) played

inside the sanctuary 

and also outside surrounded by lanterns.

布忍神社の節分追儺祭に行った。

追儺式で指名されて本殿に上がらせて頂いた。

宮司さんはとても親切な方で、

外国人の夫を大歓迎してくれ、

地元の婦人会の女性達も夫に万灯ろうのろうそくに

火をつけるように促してくれた。

最後は万灯ろうに囲まれての能管演奏を堪能。

  

3. Had "Ehoumaki" and threw beans. 

最後は恵方巻きと豆まき。 

 この光景は犬がいる日本の家庭で多く見られたことであろう。

The dogs are not scared of "Oni" at all...

犬達は鬼が大好きな模様。
