River Dodder Walk

I used to take Shiro for a walk along the River Dodder

on one particular route.

I took the dogs there for the first time in a long time.

以前、よくシローを連れて行った、

ドダー川の川沿いを歩くいつも決まったルートがある。

久しぶりにそこに犬達と行ってみた。

I couldn't believe how long the route is.

As the dogs get older, I've come to take a shorter walk.

久しぶりにそこを歩いてみて、

思っていたより長くてびっくり。

犬達も今年９歳になるので

お散歩のルートが短くなっているのだ。

And there are stepping stones the dogs used to enjoy.

そして川にこういう踏石がある。

The doggies used to enjoying hopping on these.

犬達はこの上を跳んで行くのが大好きだった。

However, Shiro was too scared to go,

and Miffy nearly fell halway, so I made her stop.

今日はシローは怖がって拒否。

ミッフィーも半分くらい行って足を滑らせて落ちそうになり、

私が慌てて止めさせた。

People change, doggies change, too....
