We had lovely roast beef dinner the other day.

And the doggies got lovely bones.

週末にアンガスビーフでローストビーフを作った。

そして犬達はその骨を今日入手した。

Each dog has its own way to enjoy it.

犬達の楽しみ方はそれぞれ。

 It looks like a summer beach.

ちょっと夏の海辺っぽいくらい賑わっている。

Spring seems to have arrived at last!

やっと春が来た感じ！

Back in Ireland

Now we are back to Ireland.

The first thing we did after we left the boat was

to release the doggies at Rosslare Beach.

The first thing the doggies wanted was

to drink water!

アイルランドに戻って来た。

Rosslare 港でフェリーを降りてまず最初にしたのは、

すぐ側の浜辺に犬達を放牧すること。

そして犬達が最初にしたかったことは

水を飲むこと！

Giving treats at home after the long journey.

長旅で疲れた犬達に自宅でオヤツをあげる。

Ireland is still cold,

but spring seems to have arrived in the garden.

アイルランドはフランスに比べるとまだまだ寒いが、

私たちが旅行中に庭には一足早く春が訪れていた。

There was an interesting development between the doggies 

in the kennel of the ferry.

As they don't particularly like each other,

we book 2 kennels for them.

But Shiro wanted to be together with Miffy

in the same kennel!

今回の旅行中、犬達に面白い出来事があった。

２人はあんまり仲が良くないので

ケンネルは２つ予約するのだが、

今回は何故かシローはミッフィーと同じケンネルに入りたがった！

In the end, we had to separate them

as Miffy gets very violent when food is involved.

(She attacked Shiro over a food issue.....)

食べ物が絡むとミッフィーがすごく攻撃的になり、

今回も食べ物のことでシローを攻撃してしまったので

２人を離すことになってしまったが。

Spring 2017 Holiday in France 8

Now I’m on a ferry from Cherbourg to Dublin.

I can use the Internet in the cabin

(purely because it’s close to the restaurant where WiFi is available).

今シェルブールからダブリンへのフェリー内にいる。

私たちの客室がWiFiのあるレストランに近いので

客室でインターネットができるのだ。

This is what we did today:

今日やったこと：

1. Brioche Breakfast!

It was rally tasty.

Very good!

1. 朝食に昨日買ったブリオッシュを食べた。

とっても美味しくて大満足

2. Tidying the accommodation.

2. 宿の掃除

3. Drove to the ferry terminal.

We bought petrol on our way.

Then I remembered I had left 2 flasks at the accommodation

so we had to drive back.

3. 港まで運転。

途中でガソリンを購入。

その時宿に水筒を置き忘れて来たことに気付き、

慌てて取りに帰った。

4. Picnic near the ferry terminal.

There was a picnic table near the ferry terminal.

It was very cold (and raining a bit).

4. フェリー乗り場の近くでピクニック。

ピクニック用テーブルがあった。

ただすごく寒くてちょっと雨も降り出した。

The doggies are (unhappily) settled in the kennel now….

We can visit them and take them out on the deck

as much as we want.

犬達はかわいそうだが今はフェリー内のケンネルにいる。

好きな時にいつでも面会に行けて、

決められた範囲であればデッキを散歩させることもできる。

Spring 2017 Holiday in France 7 -- My Birthday

Today is my birthday!

We started the day by going for a walk near the coast.

It was called "The Road of the Vikings".

It was gray and windy, 

but it wasn't raining as the weather forecast had said.

今日は私の誕生日！

特別な日は海岸沿いの散歩でスタート！

ここは「バイキングの道」と呼ばれている。

曇ってて風が強かったが、

寒くなかったし

何よりも天気予報が言ってたような雨も降らず

幸運であった。

 The Gatteville lighthouse is visible.

Gatteville の灯台が見える。

Then we went to Le Vast again to buy a brioche.

そしてブリオッシュを買いに再び Le Vast へ。

We were able to buy it today!

This is our tomorrow's breakfast.

今日は買えた！

明日の朝食用だ。

We went out for my birthday dinner at Le Pilly.
It's a one Michelin Star restaurant we couldn't go to 3 years ago.
The doggies were allowed in the restaurant.

誕生日ディナーにはミシュラン1つ星レストラン Le Pillyで。
ここは３年前に行こうとして閉まっていた店だ。
犬連れOKのレストラン。

I really liked the food up to the 2 main courses.
After that, I didn't like the cheese course and the dessert....

２つのメインコースまでの３コースは
とてもとても美味しくて私の好みだったが、
チーズコースのサラダ（不味かった！）と
デザートは私の好みではなかったのが残念。

It was foggy on our way to restaurant.
レストランに行く前は凄い霧だった。

It was still foggy when we finished the dinner.
I had to drive home (as my husband had wine) in this dense fog
on the dark country road I'm not used to.
And the WRONG side (on the right-hand side)😭.

食事の後もやはり霧がひどかった。
夫がワインを飲んだので運転は私の役目だったが、
この濃い霧の中慣れていない真っ暗な田舎道を、
その上反対車線（右側通行）を走るのは大変だった😭。

And very near our Air B&B, two policemen stopped us.
I was told to use a breathalyzer.
I had never used it before and
it was a memorable thing to happen on my birthday 🎂 !

滞在しているエアーB&Bの近くで２人の警察官に止められ、
アルコール探知機を使用するように言われた。
初めての体験だったので何か嬉しかった（笑）。
思い出に残る誕生日になったかも 🎂 ！

Spring 2017 Holiday in France 6 -- Expect The Unexpected!

After his usual morning walk with the doggies, my husband said,

"One of the tyres is punctured...."

毎朝恒例の犬散歩から帰って来た夫が

「車のタイヤがパンクしている」と言う。

It looked like one of the very sharp driveway gravel pierced the tyre.

ドライヴウェイにある砂利の一つがタイヤに穴を開けたようだ。

The whole morning was taken up dealing with it--

my husband replaced the punctured one with a spare one,

and drove to the nearest garage and had it repaired.

午前中はタイヤ修理に時間を割いた。

夫がスペアタイアに交換し、

近くのガレージに行ってパンクしたタイヤを修理してもらったのだ。

We have to think that it was fortunate it didn't happen

on the day we are going home.

帰国の日にパンクしなかったことを

幸運に思うべきであろう。

Today we went to Barfleur for lunch.

今日は Barfleur でランチ。

Then we went to Gatteville to see the lighthouse again.

そして再び Gatteville に行って灯台を見る。

Of course the doggies had fun there.

犬達大はしゃぎ。

Then we went to Le Vast to visit a famous brioche shop.

We got a recommendation from our French friend.

そして有名なブリオッシュの店に行くために Le Vast へ行った。

たまたまドライブ中に発見していたのだが、

その後フランス人の友人から絶対行くようにとアドバイスをもらった。

But their famous brioche had been sold out!

しかし残念ながらブリオッシュは売り切れであった！

Maybe next time....

次回に期待....。
