After his usual morning walk with the doggies, my husband said,
"One of the tyres is punctured...."
毎朝恒例の犬散歩から帰って来た夫が
「車のタイヤがパンクしている」と言う。
It looked like one of the very sharp driveway gravel pierced the tyre.
ドライヴウェイにある砂利の一つがタイヤに穴を開けたようだ。
The whole morning was taken up dealing with it--
my husband replaced the punctured one with a spare one,
and drove to the nearest garage and had it repaired.
午前中はタイヤ修理に時間を割いた。
夫がスペアタイアに交換し、
近くのガレージに行ってパンクしたタイヤを修理してもらったのだ。
We have to think that it was fortunate it didn't happen
on the day we are going home.
帰国の日にパンクしなかったことを
幸運に思うべきであろう。
Today we went to Barfleur for lunch.
今日は Barfleur でランチ。
Then we went to Gatteville to see the lighthouse again.
そして再び Gatteville に行って灯台を見る。
Of course the doggies had fun there.
犬達大はしゃぎ。
Then we went to Le Vast to visit a famous brioche shop.
We got a recommendation from our French friend.
そして有名なブリオッシュの店に行くために Le Vast へ行った。
たまたまドライブ中に発見していたのだが、
その後フランス人の友人から絶対行くようにとアドバイスをもらった。
But their famous brioche had been sold out!
しかし残念ながらブリオッシュは売り切れであった！
Maybe next time....
次回に期待....。
