Budapest 2 -- Buda & Pest

 The next morning we walked on The Széchenyi Chain Bridge

to go to Buda.

翌朝セーチェーニ鎖橋を渡ってブダ側に渡った。

 And got the funicular to see the Castle on the hill.

そしてケーブルカーで丘を登る。

 The roof is like a tapestry--absolutely beautiful.

Hungary's saint is St. Stephen.

In Ireland St. Stephen's Day is a bank holiday

as it is December 26 (the next day of Christmas Day),

even though he's nothing to do with Ireland!

(Ireland's saint is St. Patrick, of course)

ハンガリーの守護聖人は聖スティーブン。

アイルランドでは聖スティーブンの日は祝日だ。

アイルランドには全く関係ない聖人だが、

聖スティーブンの日はクリスマスの翌日の

１２月２６日だから祝日にしているそうだ（笑）。

アイルランドの聖人は聖パトリック。

Back to Pest for lunch.

This is a Synagogue.

The biggest in Europe, the third biggest in the world.

昼食のためにペスト側に戻る。

このシナゴーグは欧州で最大、

世界でも３番めに大きいそうだ。

We had a lunch in a restaurant called "Gettó Gulyás"

in the Jewish quarter.

ランチはこのユダヤ人街にある

Gettó Gulyásというレストランで食べた。

It was delicious!

美味しかった。

I washed the doggies today even though I still suffer from tennis elbows....

まだテニス肘で腕が痛いが今日は頑張って犬達を洗った。
