The Last Day of September

It's been unusually warm and nice for September this year,

 even warmer than August.

今年の9月は以上に暖かい。8月より暖かかった。

I took the dogs out for a walk to Three Rock Mountains.

Three Rock Mountainsで犬達と散歩。

Then I painted the walls of our small bedroom,

and a bookshelf.

The wall colour is Dulux Soft Blue.

その後、小さい方の寝室の壁と

ブックケースにペンキを塗った。

壁の色はDulux Soft Blue。

10月もいいお天気が続きますように！

New Additions

A French friend of mine gave me this.

フランス人の友人に貰った。

Made with cotton yarn I bought in Turkey.

トルコで買ったコットンの毛糸で作った。

My husband got the flashing light collars for the doggies.

夫が夜の散歩用のカラーを買ってきた。

House Renovation Project

New wooden floors were installed in the master bedroom

(at last thanks to brilliant M Kelly Interiors.)

It's oak.

やっとメインの寝室にフローリングを入れることができた。

（何軒ものいい加減な店に振り回された後、

やっと信頼できるいい店に巡り合った。）

素材はオーク。

It's a bit hard to see, but we used 

Dulux Biscotti for the walls,

Dulux Georgian Cream for the ceiling.

The ceiling lamp is Danish made.

少し見難いが、

壁はDulux Biscotti、

天井はDulux Georgian Creamを使用。

天井の電灯はデンマーク製。

 We are now sleeping in the bedroom.

(Until now we were sleeping in the attic!).

引っ越して4カ月過ぎ、

やっと寝室で寝ることができた。

（今までは屋根裏部屋で寝ていた！）

The kumquat fruits are getting bigger.

金柑の実も大きくなってきた。

And the doggies are resting.

犬達はのんびり。

P.S. I got the wall colour and ceiling colour wrong--
it's the other way round!
My favourite wall colour is "Georgian Cream".

追記：壁の色と天井の色を逆に書いていた！
大好きな壁の色がGeorgian Cream！

Shots from the Weekend

The flowers started to look better 

since I watered them after we came back from France.

フランス旅行中は手入れができなかったが、

帰国してからお水をあげたら元気になってきた。

One of the rose plants started to have flowers.

季節外れのバラが咲きだした。きれい。

While we were painting the walls in the house,

the doggies are relaxing together in the garden.

人間達が家のリフォームで忙しくしている間

犬達は庭で（珍しく）一緒にリラックスしてた。

Back to the Routine

Back to Dublin, back to the normal life.

But to be able to feel normal is a good thing.

ダブリンに戻り、いわゆる「ハレ」から

「ケ」に戻った。

でも「普通」に過ごせることは幸せなこと。

To remind us of the happy holiday,

I'm using this tablecloth I bought at the market

in  Saint-Pierre-Église.

フランスでの思い出に

テーブルクロスを使用。

Took the doggies out for a walk 

during a break from work.

仕事の合間に犬達を散歩に連れて行った。

Shiro used to be afraid of this metal bridge.

シローは以前、この金属の橋が苦手だった。

I will be a bit busy with work for the next couple of days.

But, again, I am grateful.

今週はずっと仕事が忙しいが、

フリーランスの身としてはありがたい。

2014 French Holiday Highlights

The car we bought in Japan came all the way to France.

日本で買った車はアイルランドを経てフランスへ！

One of my finest moments was 

when I met another Japanese spitz.

フランスで人懐こいスピッツに

出会ったことも嬉しかった。

また行きたい！

Late Summer Holiday in France 12

Visited Château des Ravalet in Tourlaville.
TourlavilleにあるChâteau des Ravalet。

Dogs are not allowed in the castle site,
so I took some doggy photos in the moat outside.

残念ながら犬はお城の敷地に入れないので、
外側の堀で犬達の写真を撮影。

Then we visited Collignon.
それからCollignonに行った。

The doggies were fascinated by a crab.
海岸で見つけたカニに興味深々。

Drove to Bretteville Allée Couverte.
Brettevilleの支石墓も見に行った。

We've been so lucky with the weather on this holiday.

We also visited a vet 

as the doggies need a worm treatment

before going back to Ireland.

また、犬達を獣医に連れて行った。

アイルランド帰国に必要な

ワクチンを受けるためだ。

For dinner, we ate out at Café De Paris.

We initially wanted to eat at another restaurant

which has one Michelin Star,

but that one is closed until the end of September.

But this one has "Bib Gourmand",

and we enjoyed the food

(and it was kinder to our wallet than the other one ;-))

 夕食はCafé De Parisで頂いた。

本当はミシュランの1つ星のある

別のレストランで食べるつもりだったのだが、

その店が改装のため9月末まで閉店しているので

ここに決めた。

ここも「ビブグルマン」がついているし、

美味しく頂いた。

（それにミシュラン1つ星の店よりお安い――笑。）

Visited the town of Cherbourg today.

今日はシェルブールの街を観光。

The statue of Napoléon Bonaparte.

Shiro was nervous with this toy pig

(it moved and made noises).

音を出して動くブタのおもちゃに

緊張気味のシロー。

 

We met an American couple who have

an "American Eskimo dog" 

in front of this toy shop.

They were delighted to see our dogs.

This photo shows the boyfriend and Shiro.

このブタのおもちゃのあった店の前で

「アメリカン・エスキモー犬」を飼っているという

アメリカ人のカップルに会った。

私達の犬を見て大喜びしていた。
