Trip to County Carlow

Went to County Carlow to buy a bicycle tent,

as this is one of the few shops in Ireland to stock

this particular stuff.

自転車を収納するテントを買う為に

カーロウまで行って来た。

After the shopping,

we visited Brownshill Dolmen,

one of the biggest dolmen in Europe.

 買物の後、

ブラウンズヒル・ドルメンという

ヨーロッパでも大きな種類にはいる 

支石墓を見に行った。

Then went to Oakpark for another walk

(and for Geocaching for my husband).

そしてOakparkへも立ち寄った。 

It was nearly a sunset time,

and I was able to take these beautiful photos.

この時はもう夕暮れに近かったので、

きれいな写真が撮れた。

St. Stephen's Day

26th December is called "St. Stephen's Day".

12月26日はアイルランドでは

聖スティーブンの日と呼ばれている。

We went to Marlay Park for a walk.

Marlay Parkに散歩に出かけた。

 Miffy is giving the eye to another dog.

挨拶に来たワンちゃんにガンをつけるミッフィー（苦笑）。

And then....

そして....

There were so many people in the park.

あんなに沢山の人をあの公園で見たことない。

And so many children were on their bike or scooter.

Probably they were trying Christmas presents.

そして自転車やキックスクーターに乗った子供達が沢山いた。

クリスマスプレゼントなのであろう。

And this is a Christmas present from us to the doggies.

そしてこれが我々から犬達へのクリスマスプレゼント。

Christmas Day

Lovely sunny day.

Went to Killiney Hill for 

a Christmas morning walk.

珍しくいいお天気。

Killiney Hilで散歩。

After that,

we visited my husband's father's house for

Christmas dinner.

その後は義実家でクリスマスディナー。

Had a "Wonderful Christmas Time".

充実したクリスマスを迎えることができ、

感謝。

Christmas Eve

Went to mass at our local church.

近所の教会のミサに参加。

クリスマスのミサに行くのは何年ぶりだろう。

After the mass, we invited
my husband's father & his wife,
and my husband's sister & her husband
back to our house.
ミサの後は
義家族を招いて簡単なパーティーを
我が家で開催。

My sister-in-law & her husband
brought these lovely things for us.
義妹夫妻がこんな素晴らしい
食材の数々を持って来てくれた。

A Card From Canada

We're getting Christmas cards again this year.

(Last year we got a lot fewer as we were in Japan.)

I was very impressed by the postal stamp

on the card envelop from Canada.

今年もクリスマスカードが続々と到着している。

カナダからのカードの封筒に押された

郵便局のスタンプが中々シャレている。

英語と仏語でクリスマスのメッセージ。

やっと言えたか

「カナダからの手紙」。

（本当はカードだが...。）

We met  Masy the Japanese spitz yesterday again!

昨日また公園でメイジーちゃんに会った！

Increasingly Getting Closer

The doggies are becoming closer to each other.

犬達の距離が更に近づいてきた。

And Miffy has become increasingly 
like Shiro in the appearance.
ミッフィーの表情が最近本当に
シローに似て来たような気がする。

Not just the distance....
近づいてきたのは距離だけじゃない。

Christmas Time Is Here Again

I saw a crib in Dun Laoghaire today.

ダン・レアリーにキリストの降誕の様子を表した

「Crib」があった。

And we bought and decorated a Christmas tree.

そしてやっとクリスマスツリーを買って

飾り付けも始めた。

And we'll have to organise pressies!

後はプレゼント用意しなきゃ。

Japanese Spitz on TV

I saw a Japanese spitz on the news today.

It was about a carol service held for dogs

who help elderly people as companion dogs.

TVのニュースを見ていると

日本スピッツが出ていてビックリ！

クライストチャーチという教会で

セラピードッグのために行われたミサを

レポートしていて、

セラピードッグの中に日本スピッツがいた。

SIRO

9 December is  San Siro (St. Syrus) Day.

So, we decided to call our Shiro "Siro" today only!

12月9日はSan Siroの日。

それで今日だけシローはShiroではなく

Siroということにした（笑）。

 

「カタカナで書くと

"Shiro"も"Siro"もおんなじなんですけど。

それに、ボクは"シロー"ですし。

正確には"Shiroo"だよ。」

Hurrah!!

‪Carrickgollogan Revisited

When I told my husband about the outing I had

with my crochet mate Sue,

he said he would like to go to ‪Carrickgollogan, too.

So, off we went!

先日かぎ針編み仲間のスーと一緒に

‪Carrickgolloganに出かけたことを夫に話すと、

夫も行きたいと言うので、

一緒に行って来た。

でも嬉しい（笑）。

Windy windy windy

Went to Carrickgollogan with one of my crochet mates, Sue,

and her dog Meg.

Sue is 70 years old, but that doesn't stop

her from going up on the hill!

かぎ針編み仲間の

今年70歳になるスーと

スーの愛犬メグちゃんと一緒に

に行って来た。

Very very windy, but not very cold.

And at least it was sunny!

すごい強風であった。

でも晴れてていい天気だった。

Philomena

Went to see "Philomena" a film based on a true story about 

an Irish woman whose son was sold to an American couple 

by nuns in the 1950s.

アイルランドの修道院での実話を映画化した

「フィロミーナ」をフランス人の友人

クレアと見に行った。

Philomena is played by Judi "M" Dench,

the journalist is played by Steve "Alan Partridge" Coogan.

主人公のフィロミーナをジュディ・デンチ、

主人公の話を本にするために取材するジャーナリストを

スティーヴ・クーガンが好演。

ちなみにジュディ・デンチのお母さんは

アイルランド人で、

 スティーヴ・クーガンもアイルランド系イギリス人で

まだアイルランドに親戚がいっぱいいるそうだ。

It was a moving story, 
but there were funny dialogues as well.
I thought it was a good film.

哀しい話だが、笑いもあって

非常にいい出来だったと思う。

The dogs were doing a rehearsal for Christmas.

(Bibs again!)

犬達はクリスマスに向けてリハーサル中。

（ハロウィンに続いてまたまたよだれかけ登場！）

 Are you getting ready?

準備は進んでる？

Maybe not....

まだだね（苦笑）。

Already December!

Can't believe 2013 will be over in less than a month....

But that means I will be able to start using 

the calendar I ordered with the doggy photos I took 

in Japan last year.

今年もあと1ヶ月足らずで終ってしまうなんて

信じられない。

しかし、それは去年日本で撮った犬達の写真で

作った来年のカレンダーを

あと１ヶ月足らずで使えるということだ（笑）。

I've already had my first mince pie last week

during the break at the crochet class.

今年最初のミンスパイは

もう先週既に食べた。

かぎ針編みのクラスの

クラスメイトのお手製。

And we went to get our Christmas decorations

which were stored in a shed in my husband's father's house.

そして義父の家の庭の倉庫に保管してあった

クリスマスの装飾を取りに行った。

And we need to arrange a goose for Christmas dinner.

そして遅くならないうちに

クリスマスディナー用のグースを注文しなくては。
