Easter Holiday 1

This is my first Easter time in Dublin for a long time,

as I normally go back to Japan using the long holiday.

久しぶりにイースターをダブリンで過ごしている。

例年はだいたいこの４連休を利用して

日本に行ってるからだ。

Lie in with the doggies in the morning.

初日の朝は犬達とベッドでごろごろ。

Breakfast at our local restaurant.

その後は近くのレストランで朝食。

The following day (Saturday),

we drove to Ardgillan Castle and Demesne.

翌日の土曜日は

Ardgillan Castle and Demesne までドライブ。

A break at a dog friendly cafe called "Paws".

Making Efforts to Have Beautiful Things

I went to our local Marks & Spencer yesterday

and found a lovely linen blouse.

However, they didn't have my size in the shop,

so I just bought grapes and nectarines.

昨日、最寄りのマークス＆スペンサーで

気に入ったリネンのブラウスを見つけたのだが、

私のサイズがなかったので

結局グレープとネクタリンだけ買って帰った。

I had some of the grapes that night,

and they were so tasty that

I decided I would have to buy them

again while they are still available.

その夜、グレープを食べたが

あまりにも美味しかったので

これは売っている間に

もっと買わねばと決心してしまった。

So I went to Marks & Spencer a bit far away

as I wanted to see if that branch

might have the blouse I wanted.

And they did!

そこで、グレープを買うために

少し遠くのマークス＆スペンサーに行くことにした。

昨日買えなかったブラウスが買えるかもしれない

と考えたからだ。

そして、ブラウスは買えた！

It was reasonable at €37!

€37と値段もリーズナブル！

ただ、本当はもう１サイズ小さめ

でもよかったかもしれない。

I tried to take photos of the doggies

with hyacinths in the garden,

but they look funny because of the sunlight....

庭のヒヤシンスと

犬達のコラボの写真を撮ろうと試みたが、

日光の加減で変な写真になってしまった...。

Last night I cooked a home made pizza.

I made the dough, the tomato sauce.

昨晩は頑張って

生地とトマトソースから手作りして

ピザを焼いた。

Baked the bread with the bread maker.

手前のパンもブレッドメーカーで手作りした。

It worked out beautifully!!

美味しかった！！

A Dog Wash Day

I washed the doggies today.

It's an exhausting task,

though it has become easier

to dry them since I acquired 

a good hair dryer.

今日は久しぶりに犬達をシャンプー。

私は実はあまり力がないので疲れ果てた。

いいドライヤーを手に入れてから

乾かすのは数段簡単になったが、

やはり大変な作業だ😂

二人並んでオヤツを待つ。

（これは特に珍しくない。）

Shiro often lies down,

as he believes "lying down" is better and more effective

 than "sitting down" for winning a treat.

シローは「お座り」の代わりに

「伏せ」をすることがよくある。

何故ならシローは「伏せ」の方が

「お座り」より礼儀正しいと思っていて

オヤツをもらうのにより効果があると信じているからだ😅

Cotswolds Holiday 7

This day was dedicated to tidying the accommodation,

and the journey home.

最終日は宿の掃除と自宅までの旅で終わった。

While we were cleaning the house,

Shiro tried to get our attention by playing with 

my husband's slippers.

一生懸命宿を掃除中、

退屈したシローは夫のスリッパで

遊び始めた😅

Before heading towards to Pembroke Dock,

for the boat to Ireland,

we dropped in Coleford for my husband's Geocaching.

アイルランドまでのフェリーが出る

ペンブロークの港に行く前に

夫のジオキャッシングのために

コールフォードの街に寄った。

コールフォードの今はもう使われていない駅。

Had a lunch in a dog friendly pub in Pembroke

before we got on a boat.

フェリーに乗る前にペンブロークの

犬も入れるパブで軽い昼食を取った。

ペンブローク城。

ヘンリー７世の銅像がある。

The boat journey was rough and long,

but I didn't get ill this time

as I had taken a better seasickness tablet

and the boat was much bigger.

航海は少々荒れ気味だったが、

行きと違い大きなフェリーだったのと

日本製のいい酔い止めを飲んだので、

今回は酔わずに済んだ。

We drove all the way home from Rosslare 

for 2 hours in the rain.

そして雨の中ロスレア港から

２時間運転して帰宅した。

In the morning, while my husband went 

on a Geocaching trekking,

I stayed in the accommodation

with the doggies as I need to work.

午前中は夫がジオキャッシング

を兼ねたトレッキングに出かけている間、

私は宿で犬達と留守番した。

翻訳の仕事が入ったからだ。

In the afternoon, we drove to Bibury,

one of the most beautiful villages in Cotswolds.

昼食後、コッツウォルズでも

美しい村として知られている

バイブリーまでドライブした。

It was a beautiful place,

but the shopkeepers weren't very friendly--

they seem to be sick of tourists like us....

きれいな場所だったけど、

地元のお土産屋さんは

あまりフレンドリーではなかった。

Cotswolds Holiday 5

Today we went out for a long drive.

The first destination is Bristol.

今日は長いドライブに出かけた。

最初の目的はブリストル。

The Cathedral spire and beautiful daffodils.
大聖堂の塔と水仙をバックに。

The next destination is Bath.

次の目的地は英語でお風呂を意味する「バス」

の語源となった地バース。

We didn't get in as we were with the doggies.

ローマ時代のお風呂の遺跡の前で。

犬達がいるから中には入らなかった。

Played with another dog at Royal Crescent.

ロイヤルクレセントで地元のワンちゃんと遊ぶ。

I liked Bath.

It is a beautiful medieval city.

バースはきれいな街だった。

中世の街並みがそのまま残っている。

Cotswolds Holiday 3 & 4

On the 3rd day of our holiday,

we went for a walk in the local forest in the snow

in the morning.

3日目は

午前中には近所の雪に覆われた森を散歩。

In the afternoon,

we drove to the city of Gloucester.

I went to the outlet, but didn't buy anything.

午後からはグロスターまで出かけた。

私はアウトレットに行って見たが

何も買わなかった。

My husband, who went for a walk with the doggies

while I was in the Outlet,

lost the car park ticket of the Outlet where we had

parked our car!

私がアウトレットにいる間、

夫は犬達と散歩に出ていたのだが、

その時に駐車していたアウトレットの

駐車場のチケットを失くしてしまった！

In the end we luckily found it

on the ground very near the Outlet.

結局チケットはアウトレットのすぐ

近くの路上に落ちているのを発見した。

We saw Gloucester Cathedral,

where some of the Harry Potter films were shot,

but only when we were driving.

ハリー・ポッターの映画が撮影されたことで知られる

グロスター大聖堂も車の中からチラッと

見ただけだ（苦笑）。

On the 4th day,

we went for "The Sculpture Trail" in the Forest of Dean.

4日目の午前中は、

ディーンの森の「彫刻巡りのコース」 

を歩いた。

In the afternoon, we drove to Cardiff,

the capital of Wales.

午後はウェールズの首都

カーディフまでドライブ。

A birthday present for me arrived today.

A Panasonic bread maker!

(Cheaper to buy it in the UK,

and we don't have to pay the import tax yet!)

私への誕生日プレゼントが宿に届いた。

パナソニックのブレッドメーカー！

イギリスはまだ EU だから

関税も必要ないし、イギリスで買う方が安いのだ！

Last year's Christmas present was a 

Zojirushi rice cooker.

It was more for the house than for me...

去年のクリスマスプレゼントは

象印の炊飯器だった。

どっちも私のためにというよりは

家のためだけどね。

嬉しい。
