I am in Osaka, Japan now.
I decided to come here as
the Japanese regulation has been changed:
if you are travelling from Ireland,
with 3 vaccine shots and a negative PCR test
within 72 hours of the entry,
you don't need to self-isolate near the airport,
and move freely.
実は今大阪にいる
アイルランドからの入国規制が変わり、
ワクチン3回接種し、
入国72時間以内にPCR検査で
陰性が証明されれば、
空港近くで隔離する必要も
自宅て自己隔離する必要もなくなった。
変更されてすぐ飛んできた。
It's my first time in 2 years and 2 months.
Many times, I thought
I would never see my father again.
Especially, last autumn
when I broke my wrist--
I was planning to visit Dad at that time,
and he was really disappointed
when I had to abandon the plan.
But finally I was able to visit him again.
日本に来るのは2年2ヶ月ぶり。
その間何度も
もう父には会えないのではないかと
落ち込むこともあった。
特に、去年の秋
手首を骨折したときは
日本に帰国することを計画してたので、
それをキャンセルしたことに
父は本当にガッカリしていたのだ。
しかし、何とか再会できた。
However, the journey here wasn't easy.
The Russian war didn't help.
First the news report was
all the flights from Europe to Japan were cancelled.
So I rang the air company,
but they said the flight would go ahead
as scheduled.
しかしながら、
ロシアがウクライナに侵攻したことで
色々と問題が発生した。
ニュースで、ヨーロッパから日本への便は
全てキャンセルになったと言うので、
航空会社に電話したら
「スケジュール通り運行します」
と言われた。
Not quite "as scheduled".
The flight from Paris to Osaka
was delayed 3 hours in total.
We had to wait in the aircraft
while the pilots were waiting for
an approval from the authority for
a new flight plan that doesn't
involve flying over Russia.
「スケジュール通り」とは行かなかった。
フライトは3時間遅れた。
ロシア上空を飛ばない
フライトプランが承認されまで、
私たちは機内で待たされた。
And it was exhausting in Kansai airport
to go through all the necessary procedure
to prove that I am safe to enter.
Especially, the saliva test was
absolutely disgusting and
I nearly threw up....
関空に到着してからも
自己隔離しないでいいことを
証明するための手続き、
そして何より唾液検査が
本当に大変だった。
大量の唾液を出さなければならず、
気持ち悪くなって吐きそうになった...。
Anyway, all of this is nothing
compared with the sufferings of Ukraine people,
and the people fighting for life because of Covid-19.
いずれにしても、
無事に実家に帰れたのだから、
ウクライナの人々の苦境や
コロナのせいで苦しんでいる人々に
比べたら全然平気である。

Finally I completed the socks.

with these daffodils near our house.
I was so glad I was able to
take photos this year again.
毎年、家の近くに咲く
