Good Bye 2014

Lots of happy things and sad things happened during 2014,

but I hope more happy things and less sad things will happen in 2015!

Christmas 2014

We had a walk in Dun Laoghaire.

 People were having a Christmas swim in Monkstown.

Monkstownビーチでクリスマス・スイムが開催されていた。

In the afternoon, we went to my husband's father's house

for a causal Christmas dinner--

we had duck fillets.

午後は義実家に行って

カジュアルなクリスマスディナーをいただいた。

今年は鴨であった。

Miffy, smile!!

もっと笑って、ミッフィー！！

This is just about OK, Miffy.

これはまあまあだね、ミッフィー。

Shiro's perfect smile (for a treat!).

シローは完璧の笑顔（でオヤツをねだる！）。

 And the next year's calendars have arrived.

All the photos were taken in France.

来年のカレンダーが到着した。

写真はすべて9月のフランス旅行でのもの。

Countdown to Christmas!

On Friday Shiro & I went back to the vet

where Shiro had the knee surgery.

The vet told me Shiro's knee is fine now!

金曜日にシローが膝の手術を受けた

獣医さんに行き経過をチェックしてもらい、

もう大丈夫と言われた！

So we went for a walk in the woods.

Shiro was able to run without a lead!

そこで久しぶりに森に散歩に行き、

シローはリード無しで大はしゃぎ！

 And Miffy, too!

Now we can get ready for Christmas 2014.
そして今年のクリスマスへの準備を開始。

Shiro, that's not a Christmas tree, though!
シローそれは金柑の木だよ！

Good Feeling

December is a time for charity.

We went to DSPCA to buy their Christmas cards 

as a form of donation.

We also donated the travel dog crates we used

when we moved between Japan and Ireland.

12月はチャリティが盛んになる月だ。

チャリティ活動の1つとしてDSPCA に行って

クリスマスカードを購入した。

また、同時に日本に引っ越してまた戻って来た時に

使用した犬用のクレートを寄付してきた

At night, my husband baked 

"Rose Apple Pie" for his

Bake-Off Competition at work.

夜は夫が会社での

ベーキング・コンテストにエントリーするために

「バラのアップルパイ」を作った。

The doggies were very interested.

犬達も興味津々。

This Thursday,

I'm going to join a craft market event

to help Barnados.

今週の木曜日は

Barnadosというチャリティ支援のための

クラフトマーケットに参加予定。

The soft toys are not for sale :-))

Christmas Card Photo Session 2

It was not very successful again....

Why are you so reluctant???

何かまた失敗に終ってしまったようだ。

何がそんなにイヤなんだ？？？

Shiro smirks....

シロー、何か悪代官みたいだし。

Look at this dog, and stay on duty, dogs!

この犬を真似てお仕事に励むように！

That's only a sign and

the dog was not there! says Shiro.

シロー：それはサインだけで、

その犬は仕事してなかったよ！

 
And my job is to play with toys!

Getting Ready for the Festive Season

Today was the last crochet class this term before Christmas.

One of the classmates Joan made mince pies for us!

今期のかぎ針編みのクラスは今日で終った。

次回は来年からだ。

クラスメートのジョーンがミンスパイを作って

持って来てくれた！

First mince pie of this Christmas season!

 I made this during the class.

クラスでは私はこれを作成。

My crochet teacher made this hat.

I translated the Japanese pattern for her.

これは先生が作った帽子。

日本語の編み図を私が翻訳した。

I had a small photo session with the dogs

so that I can use doggy photos for

this year's Christmas cards.

However, it wasn't successful....

今年のクリスマスカードに使用するための

犬達の写真撮影会をやったのだが、

失敗に終ってしまった。

Why are you that unhappy, Shiro?

シロー、一体何が気に入らないの？

Miffy, you look OK, but

the string from the hat is visible....

ミッフィーはお澄まし顔だけど

帽子の黒い紐が丸見え...。

 The dogs were happier

when I took them out for a walk

in St. Enda's Park.

St. Enda's Parkに散歩に連れてったら

犬達の機嫌も治ったようだ。

I still have to organise another photo session...

サンタ犬撮影会もう1回やる必要あるな。

Each Dog Has His/Her Agenda

ローストチキンの夕食の後、

チキンのことで頭がいっぱいのシロー。

on one weekday morning.

平日の朝、空になったヨーグルトの容器を

舐めさせてもらうシロー。

At night, Miffy got the space between

me and my husband on the soffa.

That's normally where Shiro lies in.

"That's my spot...." moans Shiro.

ミッフィーはソファーに坐る

私達の間でくつろぐ。

このスポットは通常はシローの定位置。

「そこは僕の場所なのに...。」

 Any problem? says Miffy.

「何か問題でも？」ミッフィー。

What Have Been Going on Recently....

My mad busy work period was over for the moment,

and I have been busy with other activities such as crocheting and knitting.

本業の仕事がある程度落ち着いたので、

私のもう1つの重要な活動（笑）である編み物に勤しんでいる。

Miffy is showcasing one of my works:

ミッフィーがモデルをやってくれた。

And the doggies have been very close.

犬達は最近以前より何故か仲がいい。

Particularly, this is an impressive photo,

as it shows the two dogs are sharing my lap!

特にこの写真は特別だ。

ソファーに座る私の膝に2匹が一緒に乗っているのだ。

Shiro still can't go for a long walk,

so we took Miffy out for a walk in the woods.

膝の手術以来まだシローは長時間の散歩ができないので、

ミッフィーだけを連れて近くの森を散歩。

For Sunday lunch we went to Jamie Oliver's

Italian Restaurant.

日曜のランチは久々に夫婦で外食。

ジェイミー・オリバーのイタリアンに行った。

 

Galway 2

On Saturday afternoon, 

I went to downtown and wandered around.

土曜日の午後、

ゴールウェイの街に一人で出てブラブラしてみた。

 The Cathedral.
And it serves as a public car park, too :-))
大聖堂。
ここの駐車場は一般の駐車場としても使用されている。
（そして私もここに車を駐車した。）

 A lot of religious buildings can be found.

多くのキリスト教関係の建物がある。

That reflects in the place names.

それは地名にも反映されている。

Even buildings for a library or shops

look like former churches.

今は図書館や店になっている建物も

以前は教会だったような感じだ。

There is a lovely canal (Eglinton canal)

right beside the city centre.

街のすぐ側に

運河があっていい感じ。

Galway is always one of my favourite cities

in Ireland.

ゴールウェイはアイルランドの街で

私のお気に入りの一つ。

On sunny Sunday morning,

I went to Barna Woods with the doggies.

いい天気の日曜の朝は

犬達とBarna Woodに散歩に行った。

まずはシンクロ！

 The gray swan looks very angry.

灰色の白鳥はミッフィーにオカンムリの様子。

Had a lovely, lovely walk!
