Staycationing in Valentia Island, Co. Kerry 4

 
Another gray day--
not just gray, but very foggy!

We drove towards 

Skellig Chocolate Factory,

but abandoned the plan 

as it was too foggy to keep driving.

また、朝から曇天であった。

それだけじゃなくものすごい霧であった。

Skellig チョコレートファクトリーに

行こうとしたがあまりの濃霧で

途中で引き返した。

We drove backwards to the bridge

between Portmagee (mainland) and Valentia,

and visited Skellig Michael Experience Centre instead.

The doggies were allowed inside 👍😊

お天気も良くないし、

室内の展示が見れる

Skellig Michael Experience Centre に行ってみた。

犬達も一緒に入ることができた👍😊

It was very interesting to learn about

the history of Skellig Michael.

I'd like to visit the island

and see the site one day.

過去の聖人が篭った場所や

作ったものは非常に興味深かった。

いつかスケリッグ・マイケルに行ってみたい。

Then we visited St. Brendan's Well.

それから聖ブレンダンの井戸を見に行った。

Then we went back to Knightstown,

and had lunch at The Coffee Dock.

The food was good!

それからナイツタウンに戻り

The Coffee Dock というカフェで

昼食を取った。

なかなか美味しかった。

After lunch, my husband had to

join a Zoom meeting for work,

and I had to do a small translation work, too.

昼食後は

夫は仕事関係でズーム会議に参加し、

私も簡単な翻訳の仕事をこなした。

And we had some time before dinner time,

so we drove to Slate Quarry

and saw the grotto there.

仕事の後は夕食まで時間があったので

粘板岩の採石場に行き、

聖母マリアの祭壇（英語ではgrotto）を

見に行った。

Slates from here are used for

the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.

ここの粘板岩は

ウェストミンスター宮殿に

使われているそうだ。

And finally we visited 2 different forts--

Cahergal and Leacanabuaile.

They are about 1000 years old.

それから 2 つの砦

（Cahergal と Leacanabuaile）

を見に行った。

これらは1000年くらい前に

作られたそうだ。

We saw a lot of things today

even though we both had to work.

2人とも仕事しなきゃならなかった

のにも関わらず、

結構色々見た。
