On the 1st morning in Barneville-Carteret,
we went to Carteret as we had been told by the landlord
that we could see the highest tide of the year.
(The difference between the low tide and the high tide
is the most extreme in this region,
and thanks to the super blue moon a few days earlier,
the difference should be a lot bigger.)
バルヌヴィル・カルトゥレでの1日目の朝は
カルトゥレに向かった。
前日大家さんに午前11時ごろに行くと
今年で1番の満潮が見られると言われたからだ。
（この地域は世界一潮の高低差が大きいところで、
その上数日前のスーパー・ブルー・ムーンの
影響で満潮が最高潮になるのだそうだ。）
We drove to the beach and stared at the high tide.
The problem is, as we don't know the normal tide level,
there was no way to compare, so
we couldn't be very impressed....
(The speed of the tide was very fast, though.)
海岸まで車で行き、高潮を眺めてみたものの、
普段の潮のレベルがわからないので、
どれほど違いが大きいのかもよく分からず、
結局特に感動もしなかったのだ....。
（ただ、潮の速度が速いのはわかった。）
After lunch, my husband went back to
Barneville beach to swim.
I stayed in the gîte with Miffy.
She is quite old now, so she rests a lot.
昼食後、夫はバルヌヴィルの海岸に
泳ぎに行き、私はミッフィーと
宿に残った。
ミッフィーは高齢なので眠っていることが多い。
Then he sent me a text with a photo
to say he couldn't swim
because of the low tide😆
その後夫からテキストと写真が来て、
潮が低すぎて泳げないという😆
We had pasta dinner.
夕食にはパスタを作った。
After dinner, we went out for a walk
and saw the Town Hall.
夕食後は軽い散歩に出て、
市庁舎を見に行った。
The dessert I had on this day:
Paris-Breast.
この日のデザートはパリス−ブレスト。
